Troutman = Win Butler?

Deadmau5 Replies to Arcade Fire's Anti-EDM Jab: 'What's Your Problem?'
During Arcade Fire's Coachella's headlining set on the fest's first weekend, frontman Win Butler made a remark that has rankled Deadmau5. "Shout out to all the bands still playing actual instruments at this festival," he said. Now the DJ has fired back at Butler with a series of tweets.

"#### to remember: A computer is a tool, not an instrument," he wrote. "Arcade Fire needs to settle down. Some dudes devote their lives to instruments, others to electronic composition by CPU, dafuqs yer problem?"

He also offered up an example to show the difference between rock and electronic music. "I don't expect to see Daft Punk pull a Steve Vai onstage," he wrote. "I expect to listen to some decent music, 'n' see cool robots. No problem. If I wanna watch real artists perform, I'd pick the opera before wasting a ####ing minute of my life with Arcade Fire. #doyouevenscorebro?"

Also, here is Above & Beyond, mentioned by Polak, showing they are unskilled musicians who are only able to create music by computer:

For the EDM fans, are any of the names at Sziget recognizable/can't miss? I'm interested in checking one or two out but have no idea what to go see.

If I had to pick one name on that list it'd be Guy Gerber

Is there more than one you'd pick or are you saying the list is pretty weak?

I'd def check out deadmau5 for the show he will put on...plus he's Canadian

Madeon is excellent despite being 17 years old or whatever he is.

Axwell, Bastille, Fedde, Calvin Harris, La Roux, and bonobo would all be worth checking out if there wasn't something else going.

That festival has an excellent line up across the board!

Wow that line up is pretty good!

As an EDM guy I'd make a point of seeing all of these, while the guys I bolded would be "can't miss" barring great conflicting acts:

- Deadmau5 (If he brings his whole production then he's a can't miss but if it's just his "unplugged" dj set then I'd pass. His DJ sets are terrible)

- Deniz Koyu

- The Bloody Beetroots (They are pertty hardcore but I definitely suggest checking them out and seeing if they float your boat. I've heard really good things but have never seen them myself. They have a song with Paul McCartney?)

- Thomas Gold

- Madeon

- R3hab

- Skrillex

- Axwell

- Laidback Luke

- Fedde Le Grand

You can't go wrong with seeing these guys.

Deadmau5 live is pretty rare these days (he only has one show booked in North America this summer @Pemberton)

I'm a huge EDM guy, I would say don't miss Skrillex, Deadmau5, Borgore, Clavin Harris and The Prodigy they will all be high energy shows that will be entertaining.

I'm more excited about the EDM side of Sziget than anything else myself.

I nodded off the first and second nights on the shuttles back, but yea the majority of people were quite, much more lively on the way there though. I left between 3/4 all three mornings and didn't have to wait more then 10 or so minutes to get on a shuttle, so that was pretty good. Same for the shuttles there, left from the Exacalibre on the first night and the Luxor for nights two and three.

I was expecting the lines to get into the venue to be much longer and was also and for security to be much more strict. I had read about horror stories from previous years about people waiting for hours to get onto shuttles/etc, but I didn't experience any of that, might of just been the times I was going/leaving though.

Today was rough, if I go again next year I am definitely going to stay an extra day to relax.

It was an amazing experience for sure.

Can't find any (like any at all) media coverage/reports, but from going through the comments on their facebook page it looks like Tail Creek was a bit of a s*** show.

- Ticket/pass holders turned away at the gate on the first night
- Rain turning the campground into a mud pit
- Poorly organized/understaffed leading many VIP holders feeling they'd paid extra while receiving nothing over the general pass
- Wind/weather shutting down the main stage for 2 days
- EDM tent remaining open but only being 18+, leaving under agers feeling burnt.

It's facebook comments so take em with a grain of salt, but sounds like many attendees felt they didn't get their moneys worth.
