So, who's left for Pittsburgh? Gallant is supposed to be going to Florida.

Yet another "worst kept secret in hockey" hiring by the Canucks, no surprise to anyone.

One huge difference between Gillis and Linden. Gillis was very cards-to-the-chest, usually only letting misinformation and hatchets in the back leak out.

Linden doesn't seem to care who knows what his plans are.

All Dreger has is the axe to grind handed to him by his cousin.

Apparently, a great coach and guy.

I worked with a guy who's kid played for Willie, and he had nothing but great things to say about the man.

ya thats what everyone supposedly says, a few weeks ago one of the newspaper guys here was on the radio and said that once the Desjardins rumors started he was getting calls every day from former players or just people who had worked with him saying what an excellent guy he was

Willy D is 57 years young, wow. He certainly doesn't look it.

Best of luck, however none of that is to be shared with the Canucks.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Nothing signed yet, but Willie Desjardins will be in VAN this weekend. Assuming all goes as expected, he'll be introduced as coach next wk.

“@sportsnetmurph: Willie Desjardins is certainly the front runner for the #canucks head coaching job, but the plan is to still interview Scott Arniel as well.”

Great guy, great coach, cares for his players and the game. I'm saddened hearing he'll be a Canuck. :/

I love how Aquilini let Gillis turn that franchise into a dumpster fire, but I don't like how quickly they appear to be making proper moves again to put out the inferno he left behind.

Hopefully these moves only appear good, but end up blowing up in the Canucks faces somehow.

The one and only.

Puck Daddy wrote a very on point article last summer during the Kadri contract talks about how Dreger was little more than a propaganda mouth piece for the Leafs or more specifically, Nonis.

Nonis has no love lost for the Aquilini's for the skullduggery involved in his dismissal and Gillis' ascension so Dreger will always come out with little tid bits (usually wrong) about stuff like this. It's why I am still doubting Kesler out and out has asked for a Trade and has more than likely said "Get me some help either here or elsewhere" and the Canucks have opted to trade high.[/Pure speculation]

I like Desjardins. He is a good coach and a very nice person. Now I HATE HIM because he is now a Canuck Actually maybe Desjardins will put the respect back to the organization. No more diving and flopping for Canucks I am hoping.

Aww shucks. I was hoping Desjardins wouldn't land in Vancouver. I think he's a great coach and wanted to be able to honestly wish him success. Alas...
