Do you want the morally right answer or the "male dominated hockey message board" answer? Cause I'll get the ball rolling on the latter; Yes.

Hetero crazy ass-porn? Or hetero crazy-ass porn? Because there's a difference.

Right, that's why I'm asking.

I don't want to make a new thread for this, but I'm pretty sick of what gets passed off as news these days.

Take a look at this Calgary Herald article and tell me it wasn't paid for by the home builders in this city:

http://www.calgaryherald.com/busines...468/story.html

The residential construction industry is essential to Calgary’s economic strength and prosperity, says a new housing market report.

But the outgoing president of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association - Calgary Region warns that some of the smaller builders in the city have already been forced to lay off staff this year due to constraints with land availability for development.

You kind of have to search for it now in hidden corners, but it's generally considered a harbinger of the death of democracy; the loss of the free press.

I've basically given up on 'traditional' news sources being unbiased and without agenda. If you look at every story and ask yourself, "Does this serve to protect and inform the people of the actions of the powerful, and how they affect the majority?", the answer is seldom 'yes'.

We are being trained to either read the news, as you have done, and look independently for who may profit from it, or blindly accept it, as we are intended to.

It might be worth an ongoing thread to allow people to post and expose articles such as this.

It's pretty much what local papers are these days..they all just contain paper retweets of AP stories, angry "opinion" columns, and highly-suspect fluff pieces to support their advertisers. Good luck trying trying to find solid, well researched journalism at a local paper anymore.

My neighbour sold his house. He is 24 and single, works in the patch.

He has been an awesome, quiet, respectful, helpful neighbour.

His moving really grinds my gears.

It RGMG those stupid excel sheets that are fully password protected and have so many security features that you can't even print or copy/paste any of the cells. Then you are forced to replicate all of the data by hand. Doing something that would have taken me literally 15 seconds is now going to take me 2 days to do, all because I can't copy and paste due to these security features.

The new neighbour crap shoot is not fun. My neighbour is moving in August, I'm not looking forward to the worry of who I might end up with. I own my townhouse, but the one next door is rented. The owner is not very discerning when it comes to picking her tenants.

A few of our clients are home builders/developers and I can confirm they've had some layoffs this year as a result of the "land shortage" cited in that article.

Obviously having clients in the industry I'm far from an impartial source, but there's been a definite shift in strategy and some reorganization from the homebuilders and land developers this year.

Not defending the article or taking sides, just communicating some of the cause/effect I'm seeing at work.

Is it just me or is this city incapable of designing and building an effective and efficient interchange? I justused the new-ish interchange at Stoney and Crowchild (going from west/south-bound Stoney ontoeastbound Crowchild) and it is a brutal design. The exit from Stoney is not a separate lane and causes a major back up along Stoney which is only 2 lanes in that area. The exit onto Crowchild feeds into a short lane which is used as an exit from Crowchild east onto Stoney. That short stretch creates a mess of vehicles trying to merge left and right. It is a horrible design overall.

I hope they do much better with the new interchange at Sarcee and Glenmore for the SW ring road.

It GMG when you burp and some puke comes up. You're not in a situation where you can spit it out, so you have to swallow it. And if you have don't have something to drink with you, you are forced to taste it for a long time.

NHL draft discussion on CP. Don't get me wrong, I love that we discuss draft picks and of course it's extra exciting this year with the Flames picking fourth, but it's just the way it gets discussed.

I mean, you see the discussions and the absolutes so many posters speak in, and the way they describe the players like they've been following them since minor leagues and the way most of the posters are just going with what other posters are saying and then forming their opinion based on that. It just seems like one big fake discussion to me. Anyone else see this?

We most likely have 6 or 7 guys that may go in the top 5 and I get the feeling from reading those threads that 90% of the posters involved have 100% no idea how to separate those 6 or 7 players based on anything except other random posters saying things.

Ricthie's a great example. One article from sportsnet saying he's now top 3, and CP has shifted and most have him as a shoe in for top 3, or that the Flames will get him at 4.

Now I'm not saying he won't be in the top 3, and I'm not saying he would be a bust at 3, my contention is just with the disingenuous discussion about it.

"Yeah, I would love Ritchie at 4, I'm warming up to the idea of his shot down the wing"

"If we pick Ritchie he will be better then Reinhart because of X and Y and because Reinhart doesn't show as much Z."

Blah blah blah, you know most of those guys have no clue about any of those players lol.

I bet you if you put the top 7 draft picks on the ice together in white jerseys with no names or numbers, and were asked to say who's who and what their strengths and weaknesses are, 80% of CP would evaluate and differentiate just like me....

"Wow, those 7 guys are amazing, not sure who's who, but holy ****!".
