Thanks. I originally thought it went off the player from Uruguay.

England in the world cup is just comedic. How do you let Suarez loose that late in the game? Rooney played well I guess, so the press can't pin this on him.

Ya, so did I...which is why I said it looked offside originally. Nice header Gerrard!

I don't think Italy will be messing around, if they tie and then lose or tie against Uruguay they could go out. Both teams really have little to lose tomorrow, they will play to win.

your team captain who should have done the right think and retired at half time puts him through when he's offside

It's not over yet.

If Italy beats both Uruguay and Costa Rica and England beats Costa Rica, England still could go forward. (Depending on the goal differential.)

It's a lot of ifs, but since none of those results are unlikely by themselves, it wouldn't exactly be a shock if England still advances.

Costa Rica must be super motivated now to at least draw against Italy, because if that happens they play an eliminated England in game three. They could even draw that game if Italy draws against Uruguay.

Really pulling for Costa Rica to flip the group upside down!

England always know how to choke. Their name is synonymous with the Canucks.

I was hoping Rooney was never going to score a World Cup goal. That would have been funny. Even still though, the guy is a notorious under-achiever at International Tournaments.

Suarez looks like he never took any time off for knee surgery, so thats a positive, but that loss to Costa Rica is still going to hurt. Uruguay really need to draw Italy, I cant see them being good enough to beat Italy.

And no John Helm for this Greece game, he loves calling Greek matches...

I'd hardly call it a choke, England played fairly well, but they could have been better. Uruguay werent great, but if your back 4 are solid and you have a gamebreaker up front then sometimes thats all you need.

They're not far off their game plan, I doubt they ever planned to beat Italy and likely were going for a hopeful draw against Italy, a draw against Uruguay and a win against Costa Rica to go through.

I think we can safely say that Roy picked the wrong Chelsea defender.

Like, do the decent thing and should consider retiring from international football awful.

The crazy thing is that he could have very easily had 3 goals today. Hit a crossbar from 2 feet out and took a glorious free kick that missed by inches.

Well that's that. I surely did have higher hopes. I can watch the games with alot less stress now.

One of the more exciting, and high scoring affairs this W.C.
