Treliving may not have made the offer, but that doesn't mean an offer wasn't discussed or made. An offer could have been floated prior to Treliving's hiring or when he was in transition.

Do you ever try different styles of tinfoil hats? Personally I prefer the look of the French hats from the Napoleonic era - it catches the light in distinct ways, and its angular approach better prevents the rays of orbiting satellites from accessing my thoughts.

The only problem with its cumbersome design is that I now have to turn my entire body when I want to look at something. It's not possible for my neck to support the hat's immense weight on its own without snapping like an arrow shaft during a Genghis Khan lecture to his sons.

It's pretty common in business (especially PR) where people don't admit to anything / flat out deny anything that never occurred in writing. So it's interesting that you go so far out of your way to be condescending when he's likely correct.

BG has that reputation, in the past he's been as bad at making up rumors as Eklund, or whatever his name is.

I doubt that Burke is going behind his GM's back to make offers or have trade discussions, that's really silly logic.
