Regarding the stadium, one of the things they mentioned is that they are looking/exploring/keeping in mind the tech aspect. Mentioned the 49ers new stadium as the watermark in terms of the technology incorporated into the stadium.

I passed on the STH meeting this time, thanks to the various posters who shared information from the meetings.

Yeah! ... in the second round, not with a top 5 pick

Was there anything further mentioned or implied about the Hitmen using their pick in the Import Draft on July 2nd to take him and have him over here playing?

I know there was something said by him awhile back that he would be open to playing junior in North America to get used to the game. I think the Hitmen pick 56th in the draft (quite a ways down) so it wouldn't be tossing a pick if they took him and he changed his mind.

Sort of surprised TOR does this as I didn't know they've ever had trouble selling season tickets. Don't they have a waiting list for YEARS?

Maybe not for season tickets but maybe for the general fan perception.

David Clarkson just screams that type of signing, bringing in the local hometown kid who plays the Canadian way.

Have been to a few of these now. In prior years seemed to get more substance, Burke is very witty and quick with comments but they revealed very little. Probably in the best interest of the organization but very stock answers vs prior years/management teams.
King should change his stock arena answer from months to years.

This was my first one, but I found the whole thing to be really nicely done. Door prizes (my brother-in-law won one), nice food, free beer. It was all very hospitable and casual.

Sure, some of the questions and answers were predictable, but all in all, it was a decent way to spend an evening.

i think we're really burying the lead on the evening session.
when asked about sven, burke answered
"everybody thinks i hate this kid people say 'you carved him' when i carve a player you'll know it. all i did was, remember when you were a kid and your dad would smack you in the head? not hurt ya but just kind of wang you on the head? that's all i did was wang him on the head."

after the session i asked him if he's ever heard of calgary puck, he says he has not. so we're all safe.
what else...confirmed that the team refused to wear the 3rd jersey, spoke to gio afterwards and told him it was one of the most embarrassing things he could remember in his career.

treliving said filitov swore he would never play in the khl during his draft meeting, poked treliving in the chest emphatically, then signed over there 2 years later.

wangs on heads?!? Talk about tough love!

Thanks for the updates all. Much appreciated by those of us who can't attend.

Just to clarify, Burke or Treliving haven't heard of CP? Burke sued a CPer lol, so pretty sure none of us are safe.

Gilles having a disappointing year? He had identical stats as he did last year. Of course the WJC's was a disappointment, but I still think he has more potential than Ortio.

Consistency is nice, but improvement is better.

For a goalie consistently good stats are pretty much all you can ask for in development. Maybe a better WJ, but all things considered he had a good year

I thought he didn't have a good second half, hence the reason for him to return to college for one more year.

I asked Burke about Compliance buyouts afterwards, and told me that they are not using one.

He was a really cool guy to talk to. Even remembered my son's name after!

Treliving was a nice guy as well. I talked to him before it started. Introduced himself, very friendly.

Had a great time there. I won a jersey, my wife won a bag with various goodies.
