There's no right answer to what sport is best; it's all personal preference.

But no championship trophy comes close to the Stanley Cup.

Every player in every sport dreams of winning a championship, but I can't think of any trophy as revered and celebrated by the players as the Cup.

Something truly special about our sport.

This one is great to see. The guy is now factually better than any of the one hit wonder winning coaches, including his original mentor Keenan.

He is where he belongs, a smart hard working man, that no one can write off as a fluke going forward. The man is legit elite coach in the era we live in.

Brown-baggin can suck a lemon, and go back to whatever 2 bit job he's doing these days. Way to go Sutts.

So watch the Wings/ Canucks skill display tonight and tell me why you would hire Darryl Sutter for any reason as your coach.
to be fair 95% of the media reaction at the time was negative...proved them all wrong

Yeah, but Dowbiggen had a personal vendetta against Darryl.

Only three teams in history have played 26 games in a single playoff run: The 1987 Flyers, and Darryl Sutter's 2004 Flames and 2014 Kings.

Sutter - So good.
And dropped the "goes to show that you just need to make the playoffs to win the Cup" line again, that infuriated so many here in 2010ish.

This 2nd cup now gives him a better pedigree than Mike Babcock and Ken Hitchcock. For all the hype of those 2 windbags neither has lifted it a second time.

One other reason why I'm glad the Kings ended it today is that Kipper still holds the playoff record for most minutes played. Quick would have gotten it the next game.

well he is the captain of the team, we should be happy he handed it to him first considering he wasn't even playing. Not sure how you can find anything wrong with it

Does Quick officially stand #2 now? That's a huge testament to Sutter in is goalie management if he can keep his starter fresh for so many games.

Poor Henrik. I'll console him.

“@DarrenWHaynes: Of top 11 Calgary Flames in career games played, that leaves only Jarome Iginla without a Stanley Cup ring. Congratulations to Robyn Regehr.”
