Kind of glad the Rags won, as the thought of not watching any hockey for another 4.5 months makes me sick. Plus its always better to watch the home team win since there will be loud cheering and confetti.

Also excited to see my favorite NHL tradition happen: the booing of Bettman.

Lundquist was amazing, but really, the win should go to the deplorable ice conditions at MSG.

For most of the game it looked like they were playing with a tennis ball and then at the crucial moments the puck stops on the line because the ice wasnt slippery.

Home ice advantage indeed.

I know stats dont always tell the whole story but being outshot 15-1 in the third really does tell the tale, the Rags were out of gas and praying that they could hold on.

Three Stars:

1. NYR: The Deplorable Ice at MSG for two Goal-Line Saves
2. NYR: Henrik Lundquist for the rest of the saves
3. LA: Drew Doughty

I hate when people spell it Lundquist. You should be able to spell Lundqvist, because he's one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, he deserves it.

He's certainly right up there with Martin Broduer.

Most of the players can't spell eachother's names correctly.

My phone auto corrects it every time to Lundquist if I don't catch it.

Did you manage to understand the content of the post? Isn't that the point of the forum? For someone like me that spends most of the time lurking and enjoying the discussion relevant to the topic, spelling mistakes do not take away from the that. All moaning about spelling does is derail things (which I have unfortunately now contributed to). If spelling mistakes make a thread unreadable for you, bring it up in the "grinds my gears" thread, or PM.

General spelling mistakes I don't really care, but at least have enough respect to spell people's names right.

For me CP is like a pub with a bunch of buddies at different tables chatting about stuff. If I have nothing to say, I drink my beer and enjoy the conversation. I sure don't pipe up to say "I can't contribute but I am concerned about how you pronounced that." I know where my buddies would tell me to go. I don't see this as any different. I also don't care a whole lot if someone spells my name wrong, but what they have to say.

The difference is that at the pub you are aware they're drunk.

Sure I understood the post, but I've seen "Lundquist" for several years now, you'd think it's a one time thing, but it just isn't, not trying to start a war here or anything, just saying pay the respects to people who earn them, LundqVist is one of them.
