Gotta love the slo-mo replays of grown men going down in agony like they're been shot. A few are legit, but most are pathetic.

Slo mos make it worse. If your running and get knocked over its going to hurt a bit. They dont have any padding.

For sure, I played a lot of soccer as a kid and I know getting a cleat on top of your foot or going knee on knee can hurt pretty good. But there are few today that are just over the top. I guess I shouldn't get too worked up about it, it's just been an accepted part of the game and the WC since I can remember.

It does hurt, and it doesnt take much to take down a guy running at full speed, but at the same time the rolling and screaming agony is trying to draw a card. I can do without that crap.
The ref has been outstanding thus far. Not biting on any nonsense and letting the game flow.

It is NOT accepted.
It's that it's very hard to referee, and A HUGE incentive to do it.
Been discussed some; but I feel a dive should be a straight sending off.

True but todays been good. The Neymar one I think he was off balanced already. But he got up right away.

I also like that they're using the spraycans for freekicks to reduce encroachment. Take the guesswork out of it. I hope to see some nice goals from set pieces.

I believe in the Jays.

The problem with diving is that it works. Neymar embellishes the contact and gets a free kick. The Croatian player (I couldn't tell who it was) got to his feet quickly after getting knocked over, still lost the ball, but didn't get the call.

Our 6-8 year olds handle it better than these guys.

That's something that MLS has been using this season - makes so much sense to me. The premiership is terrible for encroachment on kicks so I hope they'll adopt the same.

I find the spray cans funny because it sounds like a huge innovation, but it's already used in the MLS, and probably some other leagues as well. Generally speaking, if the MLS is doing something Europe doesn't, it's not a good thing.

The Croatian lost his position so Neymar can run into him and draw the foul. Like in basketball where a shot blocker is faked out and jumps. The shooter can freely jump into him and draw the foul.

I'm not saying it wasn't a foul. I'm saying they were both fouls, and only the one the was embellished was called. That leads to more embellishment/diving.

The fact that he's on the team is why I have Croatia beating holland in the round of 16. Not just hate, but he's just not very good.
