I wonder why Steam doesn't have a similar sale for preorders during E3?

That tweet was from Futureshop though, so you never know, go on Amazon and give it a shot.

At Future Shop you only pay when each game ships and you only pay for what ships, so you could have 6 different payments if they ship at 6 different times.

Not sure how Amazon works.

Was not aware of this, thanks. I'll probably pick up a few games then. And they tend to ship them out so they're delivered on (or at least near) the release date?

I ordered 3 games from Future Shop last E3 and 2 arrived on release day, the 3rd came a day early.

Edit: That is with standard (free) shipping.

Most come around the time of release (a few early, some late).
If you absolutely have to have it on the minute it comes out, this won't guarantee that.

At 30% off per game, I can easily wait a day or two.

Yes, the new Star Fox... Of which there was no footage or screenshots, and is so early that it doesn't even have an official developer. The yarn game has great art design but if its anything like the Kirby one it'll be overly easy and simplistic. Stuff like Kirby's Canvas Curse and Captain Toad look fun but I wouldn't pay $70 for them.

I thought they had a far better showing last year with Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Wind Waker HD, Smash Bros., Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart.

Seriously a shame that Nintendo couldn't stick to a summer release for the 3DS Smash Bros. It probably doesn't make a difference for their sales if they are releasing in the fall but nothing big to look forward to minus TLOU remastered and Destiny beta.

Just because last year's was better does not mean that this one was not good. The fact that Sony and MS did poorly factors more into all the praise for Nintendo, but that doesn't make it bad.

NHL, Batman, Assassin's Creed, and the kind gentleman online was able to add Little Big Planet 3. At the rate I play games, I should be done by E3 next year.

I want the bundle -- they're coming out with one that comes with the game, GameCube controller adapter, and Smash Bros. branded GameCube controller for $99.99. I just don't see it on any of the Canadian sites yet.

Steam regularly does pre-order discounts on games. They just don't do a time limited event to coincide with E3. Right now you can grab the Witcher 3 at 10% off. As games get announced and edge closer to release they often try to entice people with a 10-20% off. Green Man Gaming does this a lot too. I know my buddy pre-ordered Titanfall for $30.
