When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know, downtown

Come to the Scotia food court - they hibernate and recharge there during the day.
And hang out at the bus stop outside.
There's a guy who is always in the Metropolitan centre building asking for spare change for coffee has a routine. He hangs out in the plus 15 to get coffee money, goes to tims, hangs outside and smokes and once in a while will launch a epic tirade against random construction workers getting coffee in tims.

Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk
Where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles
Forget all your cares and go
Downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown, no finer place for sure
Downtown, everything's waiting for you
Downtown
Downtown
Downtown
Come on, come on
Come on, downtown
Everybody go downtown
Downtown
Stampede starts in a couple weeks.
With all the corporate parties, breakfasts, etc there is always potential for things to happen.
Couple years ago I remember walking by Bow Valley Parkade at about 10am and seeing a guy leaning up against a pillar, one hand raised above his head to brace himself, drunken urinal style.
Probably mid 40's, clean cut, tucked in short sleeved dress shirt and khaki's. Probably worked in IT. Just drunk and barfy on a Tuesday morning.
Gotta love it.

Has anyone seen the asian female violinist on the plus 15? Every time I walk by, I can't help but to think her parents must have pushed her into taking violin classes as a child like typical asian parents do.

The trains station on 6th ave is a pain now. They tore down the huge parkade building right behind the station. That means they had to erect a fence to block off all the rubble. So now the fence encroaches about half of the sidewalk/platform. So instead of being able to navigate where the sidewalk used to be, you have huge crowds of people who are almost pressed up right against the yellow warning line since there is no room to walk behind them. Everyday I see people walking right along the yellow line and honestly, it's only a matter of time before someone falls off the platform.
The best +15 guy is the guy going west from Esso plaza building. He is a bad American Idol audition. He doesn't sing he honks. How this guy can think his own voice sounds good is baffling.

I'm not sure who is worse. Honking acoustic guy or bald amp-guy (the guy who only plays loud solos on his electric guitar and can't sing or anything).
I've seen amp guy at Long & McQuade dropping big bills on guitars and equipment so the busker life must be working out for him despite the fact that his music is awful.
I like the old dude playing old time-era tunes on his flute on the corner of 6th and 3rd. Doesn't ask you for change, but does make you want to go for Medieval Feast.
