I dont know about that, I think that 2010 Dutch team was one of the best squads in a long time, its simply a shame they couldnt get along. Now they have a much weaker team but they're still keeping the 'Three Horsemen' of Sneijder/RvP/Robben who have basically been the cornerstone of Holland for years despite the fact that they outright hate each other.

Does anyone anywhere like these guys? I mean they're good players, but they basically ooze douchiness through the TV screen.

Core of their defense couldn't qualify for Europa, mediocre keeper & De Guzman for Strootman is a backwards.
Compound with the poisoned trifecta and they're reminisce of the French in 2010.
My prediction:
The Spanish shred them apart in game one, expediting the mutiny.

I don't think that is true.
RvP and Sneijder had their troubles, but that was even before the 2010 WC.
It's no issue over the last couple of years.

It's also been an issue winning games since.

Italy makes a finals appearance every 6 years, and since they made it to the finals in the 2012 Euro Cup, I am not expecting much from them in this tournament. I will be happy if they just make it past the group stage.

Yes, too many Eredivisie players... especially on defence.
Cillessen isn't a mediocre keeper. In fact, if I look at all WC squads there are maybe 3 or 4 goalies ahead of Cillessen. Believe me.
His style is pretty much the same as Courtois. (boring but effective)
Spain will win, however it won't be a big win.
Spain always struggles the first match of a tournament. We usually start of strong.
I'd say 2-0 or 3-1 Spain.
I just don't want to see Robben go one on one with Cassilas. That will bring back some painful memories.
(and if it happens, I bet he will score this time)

Holland wasn't that good in 2010. Brazil had them by the nuts in the quarterfinal until Mello's own goal then got sent off and Julio Cesar went walkabout. that was 15 minutes of madness for a great Brazillian team.
Then Holland beat a Suarez-less Uruguay and then went violent against Spain.

Absolutely flawed logic. Brazil did NOT have them by the nuts. Holland were well worth the win in that game. Controlled the second half even before the sending off.
And you cannot equate the psychotic behaviour of one player and the absence of another with a completely different team being bad.
Agreed that there tactics were terrible in the final.

I'll be at the NDL-CHI match. It's going to be a bit awkward if Twatface scores, elation and disgust at the same time.

So is there anyone who can hold Spain's jockstrap yet , or do they get to keep defaulting on debt and stay in the EU because they keep beating the rest of Europe at football? Maybe one of their new world countries will be able to knock off their old world rulers this time.
What will be this years Vulvuzela, or whatever those bloody things were?

Welcome to the thread.
First I've read of the Spanish being overwhelming favourites. Dated conversation.
IMO the Brazilians are the marginal favourites. Western Hemisphere W.C + Weather + at Home.
