I don't know how Nadal can continue if he doesn't win the match here in the 4th.

It's a survival mode match now. Just got a hell of a lot more interesting.

That was hilariously awkward by Nadal.

Holy disappointing end. I think Novak was being sarcastic to the crowd for being their usually disrespectful selves.

In a strange twist, Andy Murray has hired Amelie Mauresmo as his new coach.

Why were they disrespectful?

I was just reading an article about that. Fascinating. It'll be interesting to see how his game changes under her.

I know Mike Richards' "Hank" Mauresmo skits were uber tasteless, but sadly I still laughed my head off every time.

What RGMG is how the morning crew (specifically Boomer) take swipes at tennis any chance they get. If you don't like it, put it in the pile with the all the other sports you don't talk about at all, since you don't know jack about them. Focus on improving your hockey analysis instead cause that's already pretty sketchy as it is.

Too noisy between points, it happens at every major but the FO crowd is usually the worst. Between him missing his first serve they just should have been quieter than they were.

Most other athletes have to deal with crowd noise and concentrate. What is different about tennis? Seems to be just a point of etiquette.

I was at the match and other than a few d-bags screaming, I thought the crowd was just engaged. When Novak was on the brink of breaking rafa they got just as loud for him.

No doubt the crowd was pro Rafa but c'mon, if you are criticizing a crowd for being too loud and cheering to loud, it's time to take up golf.

Maybe in a team sport, yes. When's the last time you've seen golfers or track athletes tolerate noise while executing shots?

You realize tennis and golf have effectively the exact same etiquette expectations for fans right? Cheer between action, shut the #### up when it's going on. Golf fans are actually substantially more annoying than tennis fans, particularly now with the nonsense losers shout (bababooey, mashed potatoes, other idiocy), and try to time, exactly when the player makes his shot (generally on the tee box).

I realize that. I think there were three instances where Novak went to serve and some idiot said something. And sadly, it seemed like the same idiot (or came from the same section). People booed him once, I'm just surprised that the staff didn't throw him out.

You said people cheered too long in between points, that's ridiculous.

Some good results for the Canadians today:

Wozniak beats Watson in three sets at the Aegon Classic.

Pospisil wins his first match since January. He takes out Lorenzi in three sets at Queens to advance to the second round. It's good to see him getting some momentum.

And you can vote for the WTA's rising star of May: http://www.wtatennis.com/news/articl...r-of-the-month Genie is there.

True, but is there any good reason for this other than tradition? Boxers don't need the crowd to be quiet. Basketball players can shoot foul shots with people screaming and waving towels. During shoot-outs hockey fans are standing and yelling.
