It can.
Then 4 minutes for diving.
Or 2 plus 10

Why is Nash being blamed Don? Well he's being paid 7.8 a year, and only has 3 goals in 22 games (10 points), and didn't get a single point tonight. Then there's Brad Richards who will never get any flack on this broadcast, but was a stellar -3 tonight (out of 4 ES goals against), and only has 11 points in 22 games. He also had zero points tonight like Nash.

Both of them have been particularly awful in the post season, and are barely responsible for the Rangers being here. There have probably been 6-7 Rangers forwards that have done more in the playoffs than those two.

This series is pretty much over, the Rangers just cannot finish the Kings. They'll be lucky to avoid a sweep at this point

Just you. Watched over and over definitely Browns curve that got it.

Teams up 2-0 in games end up winning the Cup 90% of the time.

NY got screwed out of that game. No way that goalie interference goal should have counted. Oh well, that's pretty much the series now. Could have been an exciting finals if the Rangers won that one.

Too harsh. Refs would never call it

Keep it the way it is in game, but make dives review-able after the play and subject to supplementary discipline or fines.

Fine amounts should be based on player salary so they are meaningful.

This pretty much sums it up. Home-ice playoff victories:
Kings: 21 in last 3 years
Flames: 20 in last 25 years
Oilers: 19 in last 23 years

I don't think it's meaningful unless it effects the game - and fines don't do that.

That had to be sweet for Willie, given how Vigneault treated him in Vancouver. (Well, any Cup final goal is pretty damn sweet, but being involved in a gamer winner, with some tasty revenge frosting, is even sweeter. )

I get that, but I really don't like referees getting even more influence on the outcome of a game. I prefer calls clear cut as much as possible and judging whether a players reaction is acting or legitimate is so subjective especially without the benefit of replays.

It comes down to:

Fines would target individual players.

Harsher penalties would target teams.

The teams should absolutely be the target when diving occurs. Slapping the player on the wrist behind closed doors as the NHL's current strategy is ######ed, imo.

Plus, when you watch a hockey game, the refs calls are a hell of a lot more subjective than you think. If you counted up all the infractions based on the rule book during a game, there'd likely be 30-40 penalties a game.

What you're seeing is just the infractions the refs feel go over their own subjective threshold for calling a penalty, and I believe diving should become a bigger part of their subjective game calls.

Nash has played hard over the playoffs much better than Richards who was just awful tonight. Nash seems to have lost his scoring touch as nothing seems to be working for him offensively and he's like a glorified Blake Comeau. Richards on the other hand may as well get ready for free agency as he's probably going to be bought out and rightly so as he's just not a great player anymore. Torts may have been right benching him last year as the Rangers would have been better off tonight if he was in the press box.

How many did the Kings have in the 20 years prior to the last 3? they are on a great run now but were a doormat for a long time

Kings will win this in 5. A strategically placed loss in game 4 to go home and win it in L.A this time.

He never really was. He was a 60 to 70 pt player at his peak (his 79 pt season was an outlier) and now he's regressed to a 30 to 40 pt player. He was never as dominant as his highlights would suggest and has really fallen off the last couple of years. He really should be a 3rd liner at this point.
