Kypreos is saying on FAN 590 that the reason that Mcguire isn't the GM in Pitt is because they couldn't come to terms on a deal.

Seems far fetched IMO.
McGuire has been begging for a shot at GM for years now. Doubt he actually turned them down on contract.

No kidding seems odd that a guy that hasn't had an NHL job in 20+ years get hung up on term.

Geez, poor Bylsma. It's the right move, but it couldn't have been a good feeling watching the GM who hired you get fired, only to watch you own career path be strung along until the new guy gets hired....who fires you immediately. If it wasn't Rutherford who fired him and it was upper managements decision, it looks even worse on them waiting this long.

I wouldn't want him on my team. He's always had one of the best rosters in the NHL and managed to choke in the playoffs every time. They've only won it once with him.

Interesting comment about analytics coming from this press conference.
Rutherford says he is going to hire an analytics expert in the next couple of weeks because he doesn't feel the Penguins organization is up to speed.
