Heroes: A Grail Quest is great fun if a bit short. Made by the Dev Story people. I've been looking for some Turn Based games too

So I am curious out of these ones:

Jeanne D'Arc
Ragnarok Tactics
The entire Disgaea series
Rainbow Moon
La Pucelle
Phantom Brave

Which would you recommend trying? Which would be the most like FFT/TO/OB?

Start with Jeanne perhaps? Disgaea is a bit wacky and Rainbow Moon is a bit more of a grind with less team stuff initially. I thought I'd toss some videos if you wanted to skim/get a taste of them.

Awesome thanks for the vids.

Another one we forgot, Vandal Hearts. The original is just great (while maybe a bit easy), the second one not so much.

Disgaea is kind of fun because it's wacky. Much less serious than other games and only takes itself seriously in small doses.

Though at the same time I'd avoid it until later because much of the late game (post-story) is purely a grind based game. There are maps which are purely designed to grow levels off of and the strategy basically becomes "grind until you reach level 250/300/whatever, beat level, then grind to 300/350".

Not sure what category Resonance of Fate would fall into. The battle system a mix of turned-based positioning and timing. The world map requires a bit of puzzle-style unlocking. Story line is confusing as hell, but the creative battle system and world map make up for that.
