So the French Open slights Nadal big time by putting him on Lenglen so that Monfils can play on Chatrier....and Molfils is getting annihilated while Rafa just lost the first set to Ferrer.

Tennis can be annoyingly predictable at times. For instance the second Ferrer lost the second set, who didn't think the match was over? And sure enough, Ferrer comes out in the third and gets broken twice in a row. That's why I really like Genie's chances of becoming #1 and a multiple major winner. She's got the mental toughness to fight through tough spots. So many players just fold when things go a little south.

as a Spaniard, it's Ferrer's national duty to step aside and not interrupt Rafa's path to the final. he might get a stern talking to about that first set when he goes home.
looks like we're barreling straight towards another 6 hour Rafole session on Sunday, but plenty of drama left. like what does loudmouth Ernests have in store for the Djoker tomorrow? is any of that suddenly hot hitting gonna do any good for a 3rd upset? and will Murray even be able to finish his match today, cause he sure loves his 5 setters (must be a Hewitt in training).

Ferrer losing 6-4, 4-6, 0-6, 0-6, would be utterly hilarious. Especially now that Murray is falling apart and Monfils might take him to 5 sets. Who would have thought after two sets of each match which one would be a total rout?

Murray badly needs darkness to come. The French probably wish they actually put lights up because stopping Monfils now might cost him the match. And Nadal wins 15 of the final 16 games to destroy Ferrer. 7 (!!!) consecutive breaks by Nadal to close to match, what a collapse by Ferrer as well.

One of the most bizarre matches ever. And all for the honour of getting smoked by Nadal in the semi's.

Interesting. Hopefully it's not a big deal.
Quote:
The day before the biggest match of her life at the French Open, Eugenie Bouchard went through a tense practice at Roland Garros which saw her and coach Nick Saviano engage in several heated discussions.
Bouchard and Saviano argued before the 18th-seeded player hit a ball into a nearby food court and stormed off the court.
"Am I not allowed to have an opinion?" Bouchard was heard asking Saviano.
"No," he replied.
Saviano was not available for comment after practice, while Bouchard - as is custom with tennis players - did not speak to reporters after practice either.

She's battling hard out there. Looked like Sharapova was going to break her, but Genie came back and now takes a 4-2 lead in the first set. She's looking pretty good early.

FYI Sharapova's volume is going to increase as the match goes on, so be warned.

Nice! Genie wins the first set 6-4. She's such a warrior, at times you feel like things could fall apart, but she keeps coming back. Fun to watch.

Yeah, this 2nd set isn't off to a great start. Sharapova leads 2-0.
