In a move that is sure to stun Habs faithful, stalwart Francophone defender Francois Beauchemin has been shipped out to Winnipeg for cusp-NHL defender Steve Olesky.

While it's obvious that the Canadiens are saving up to splash around in the UFA market, the loss of another big name player, french to boot, is not going to sit well with a fan base that is only three seasons removed from winning the cup three times in a row.

The Jets could have some Cap concerns following this move, but Beauchamin is a favorite of the GMs and is an upgrade on 4 of the current Dmen on the roster.

Expect a move shortly to move out cap.
