Junio is hot commodity right now so it is not surprising. Shatner is unnecessary.

			Great news for great guys.
To be honest though, I hope that Gil starts getting mentions for his skating. At last count I think he won 4 medals on the World Cup this year yet all we hear about is his story in Sochi.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on July 11 is enough for me to brave the lines at Nashville North.

Craven for the last week of stampede offers Nitty Gritty, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and the list goes on!

Shatner is a good choice. Junio and Morrison are better choices. I like it.
Meanwhile in Edmonton, little brother syndrome is once again on full display: http://www.edmontonsun.com/2014/06/0...till-a-mystery
I didn't even know that (1) they changed the name again and (2) they had a parade.

my first thought after reading that:

"FINE! I'LL HAVE MY OWN PARADE! WITH BLACKJACK! AND HOOKERS!"

I might be a terrible person, but would anyone care about Gilmore if Morrison finished say 16th? The whole thing seems a bit blown out of proportion to me... But I might be alone in that or just cranky this morning.
Parade Marshall's are overrated, but if anyone count me in the Peter Maher camp as opposed to Shatner.

The silver medal certainly makes Junio's sacrifice a far more compelling story, but even if Morrison fell, it still would have been noteworthy. Not parade co-marshal worthy, but noteworthy.

They should make Darryl Sutter the marshal because he is going to win another Stanley Cup. It would be great to see the Stanley Cup going down the parade route with Sutter (it would be even better if the Flames were taking it down the parade route - maybe next year.)

Nope I agree with you 100%. I was at a function where Junio/Morrison were interviewed prior to a presentation by Chris Hadfield. The Junio/Morrison interview was painful, with Morrison coming across as a malcontent and Junio as his biggest cheerleader.

Fortunately Hadfield's presentation made up for that 45 minutes of my life that was wasted. But maybe I'm just cranky too.

That would be kind of sad and pathetic, trying to latch onto another city's cup because we are too crappy to do it ourselves.
