Why would we give up Brodie? The guy is only 23 years old, and hasn't even hit his prime yet. And did we not just see the Gio-Brodie combo that was so effective? Trading Brodie and our 4th OA for Ekblad would be the stupidest trade ever.
I too am a Brodie fan and would only trade him for the 1st OA without the 4th OA being packaged too.

Would you consider moving next year's 1st rounder to Buffalo for their first this year + Myers?
They're most likely taking down the first pick overall next year based on the lottery.
Would Buffalo do this deal?

Just a bet that we won't be worse than Buffalo next year anyway and getting two of the top four this year in addition to a young project d man like Myers accelerates the rebuild.
Just thinking out loud...

Why do people keep suggesting moving the 2015 1st? It's ridiculous. And the Myers boat anchor coming back too? Ugh.

why would Buffalo give up a 2nd overall pick AND Myers for a pick that COULD be a high pick next year? Makes zero sense.

True, Myers is too much. What could they offer though to incent us to do this deal?

There is no "incent" lol. It's just a stupid trade without them having a crystal ball.

The deal is never happening, from either side. Buffalo isn't giving up a sure thing, and Calgary isn't giving up their ticket in the McDavid lottery. End of story.

Is there any place where I can see a list of what draft picks the Flames have this year? I've been searching for a bit and can't find anything.

4th OA (CGY's 1st)
34th OA (CGY's 2nd)
54th OA (COL's 2nd)
64th OA (CGY's 3rd
83rd OA (PIT's 3rd)
175th OA (ANA's 6th)
184th OA (CGY's 7th)
Traded our 4th for Colborne (win)
Traded our 5th for Russell (win)
Traded our 6th for MacDermid (loss), but we traded Jackman to Anaheim for their 6th (win), so those pretty much offset.

What would it take to pick up an 1st round pick next year? (Maybe EDM?)

I don't think any potential high lottery picks are in play without a huge payment IMO

I know we all love Gio...though what if he were packaged to FLA for #1 this year, as well as the right to swap 2015 1sts ... FLA would have to give more IMO... But I'd love to see some insurance on CGY getting a high pick next season.

If Gio is traded Calgary is guaranteed to be picking top 2 next year.

Drafting players is not the only important part of a rebuild. I don't think this is a bad idea, but I'm not sure I would do it. You need leaders that hold these kids accountable and I'm not sure it's a good idea to get rid of one.
Having said that, two high draft picks could be good
