Hope this isn't a fata.
Tod Button on the Flames' fourth overall. Don't know if I should be worried or not about this:
Quote:
"It would be easy to say whoever is there at four we'll take at No. 4, but our group is bigger," Flames director of amateur scouting Tod Button said. "We have six, seven, eight guys and we're still sorting that out and this is part of the process."

Yeah, he just has a baby-fat face. Give it a few years and he'll be a beast.

Ritchie looks like a beast!! I hope the Islanders grab him instead of the Canucks. I don't want him coming down the wing against us for the next decade+. Eep.

Well color me absolutely smitten with Draisaitl after watching his two interviews. Kid has a great head on his shoulders. I love the comments about being German and being from a country with a lower quality of hockey development. To me that means his motivation to compete and be the best he can be goes well beyond normal parameters. Complacency will not be an issue with him throughout his career.
As of this afternoon, I hope now that the Flames pick Draisaitl if he is there at their pick.

The Oilers coverage of the draft is superb. Truly practice makes perfect.

I'd hate to pass on a guy that looks like he might wind up as a Lucic type with more skill. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if this kid ends up in Calgary.

Sounds like a Kopitar-like player to me . Now I don't mind if the other top 3 are chosen now. Draisaitl would be a lovely #4!

Nor would I. If Ekblad, Bennett and Reinhart are gone in top 3 I would consider Ritchie and from the sounds of it the Flames are considering it too with their top 8.

Me either. I have a funny feeling that the Flames are high on him too. I could see them trading down possibly to take him.

I think the Flames lack high end skill the most. Players like Richards and Brown don't steer the ship in LA - Kopitar and Doughty do.
It would be unbelievably foolish to pass on a Draisaitl for Ritchie.
Edit: many typos. much weird.
