Ekblad says he lasted 12:10 on the VO2.

Monahan lasted 14:00 last year just for comparison
so what you're saying is Monahan would be without a doubt the 1st overall pick if he was draft eligible this year

Mike Harrington @BNHarrington
Small World/Irony Dept: Ekblad teammate Brendan Lemieux -- Claude's kid -- got interviewed by DET. By Kris Draper. Said it went very well

Get Tallon on the phone and offer Monahan for their next 3 1st round picks.

I like Ekblad. That kind of attitude paired with the skill and size? He won't make it to the Flames pick. Makes me a sad-ish Panda. On the bright side! Reinhart Draisaitl and Bennett will be available. God just take any one of those four please Calgary. I won't be upset in the least with any of them.

According to the Oilers website Nylander interviewed with 28 teams.

I guess Draisaitl hasn't tested yet? Or did I miss it.

Pull-ups with your palms facing out are substantially harder than pull-ups with your palms facing towards you. I'm guessing fitness testing included the former and that some posters are visualizing the latter. Tons of people are not good at that type of pull-up. Not really a huge concern IMO, those muscles are used more for rock climbing than hockey.

Hah, William Nylander better enjoy those lush golden locks while he can.

The concerns on Ritchie were silly IMO and uninformed paranoia that he's a fattie and will always be a fattie. This weekend should prove that to be not be the case.

Lord, is Nik Ritchie Brent Krahn's nephew or something? That round chubby face is so similar.

Should be noted in the TSN radio interview I posted previously, Bennett says he had a coach help him train specifically for the combine.

Pull ups are a new element to the combine this year and in one of the previous articles I posted, they are done overhand and must follow a strict form for them to be counted. So it is possible he couldn't do the pull ups because he didn't train/know the correct form for them.

Either way. Watch out. When Bennett is strong enough to do them pull ups he'll be a force to reckon with.

Those type of pull-ups would come in handy more during the clutch & grab/waterski era. Especially if one has to adhere to a very strict form, I don't really see these kids focussing on it much.
