It was basically your standard Canadian racism. Not insanely mean spirited, but extremely offensive and stupid.

I didn't find it that racist at all actually. Sure there were a few "lol 'insert race here' sucks at driving" comments but most were just people basically saying 'Yeah, they drive differently where they came from, and some of those habits don't translate well to Canadian roads."

Unless the thread took a complete left turn and went off the rails after I went to bed, I didn't think it was that bad.

I would love to do this for sheer convenience and feeling like a functioning human being but have been ordered by my surgeon not to stop using them until I have healed enough that I'm not limping overmuch. In light of my promise to myself that this is the last knee operation I ever have, I am inclined to listen. Doesn't mean I have to like it though.

... And as a much more petty WRGMG, I finally do feel healed enough (and actually have enough free time) to go see the new X-Men movie this weekend, and what do I find? It's not in Imax. Anywhere. Instead, Maleficent is in Imax.

Between those two movies who thought that the poorly-reviewed Angelina Jolie Disney live action sequel should be in Imax as opposed to the epic time travel superhero movie? Ridiculous.

Incidentally, for those who've been, if I'm seeing it in regular theatres, should I go 3d Ultra AVX (whatever that even is) or non 3d?

3D aside, Ultra AVX is actually pretty dope. Can you see it in Ultra AVX without 3D?

I saw it in AVX 3D last night...and I'm sure it would be fine in regular. I didn't think the 3D added much

Canadian racism:

For racism in English, press 1.

As someone who hates 3D with a passion. It actually was quite tolerable in 3D, after awhile I didn't even notice it.

Either or, would be fine. Non 3D would be cheaper obviously.

X-Men was never in IMAX, so don't blame the theaters for that. Strange decision I'll admit, but it's not really a movie that necessary "works" in IMAX I suppose. The X-Men movies have never been in IMAX, and only the last few have been in 3D. I think Brian Singer is generally against that crap (good for him if that's correct).

3D RGMG.

Furthering the 3D gear grinder. Saw godzilla last night. Unfortunately the movie that fit my time frame the best was in 3D. Great movie, but 3D added absolutely nothing and in fact in some fast pans were really blurry. Really wish it wasn't in 3D as I really enjoyed the movie otherwise.

Jaywalkers rgmg.

Been spending more and more time in forest lawn lately because my girlfriends mom lives there, and I swear every time I'm in the area at least 3 different people just walk out into traffic. They all do the same thing,l if you don't stop, they yell, get mad, and try to fight you . Everyone from school kids to middle aged drug addicts.

I don't even stop for them anymore. If they're not at a corner or a cross walk I blare the horn and go around. I know that Canada's pedestrian laws are backwards and I'm technically supposed to stop, but I don't care anymore.

This neighbourhood sucks. So glad I live in the south.

Oh god, I meant to post this exact gear grinder last week. I work near there, so I often pop into forest lawn for lunch and it's ######ed. You have to be so on guard there.

It's just a constant mess of cars and people darting everywhere, randomly. Every few months or so you'll read about a pedestrian fatality somewhere along 17th through forest lawn, and my reaction is always "yep, makes sense. Surprised there isn't more."

Tim Horton's coffee cups and their ####ing sharty lids. Starbucks and McDonalds are doing it right, why can't Tim's?

Anybody who hasn't spilled their coffee while driving should consider themselves lucky.

i don't know if this is a gear grinder or more of a 'are you kidding me?!?!'

this evening i'm crossing the street at a crosswalk - timing was great becuz no cars had to stop for me to cross. so no big deal. this girl is walking towards me and enters the crosswalk as i'm exiting it. her head is burried in her phone and she doesn't even bother to look up.... she just starts crossing the street. by this time there is a mercedes flying down the road and he didn't notice her until the last minute and thankfully was able to stop.

hey cell phone chick - head up honey - take a look around before you start crossing the street!! yes, i realize you are in a cross walk and yes, you have the right of way, but when it comes to you vs a mercedes the mercedes will win 10 out of 10 times!

i just can't fathom that people will put some stupid texting conversation ahead of their life!

should buddy in the mercedes be paying more attention? absolutely! but the chick with the phone needs to take a look around too!

Gentlemen at the gym:

Please do your workouts upstairs, and not in the steam room. None of us want to see you doing push-ups, sit-ups and burpees, in your speedos.

Please wear something more than a towel when in the unisex steam room. There is a sign. Don't be a weirdo.

Yup. Tim's lids suck. The solution is to stick the tab down into the drink instead of sticking it in the tab holder or ripping it off. Sounds stupid but it works.
