I haven't been a part of that thread or even read it and if that's true then yes that's in poor taste and I'm surprised that would be allowed here.

Maybe I have been fortunate to not hang in groups of men that hate women and treat rape like it's fine because I just don't see where this talk is coming from.

I'll say you've been pretty damn fortunate if you haven't encountered that. I hear #### that makes my skin crawl on a regular basis.
Again, I actually said this thread wasn't overly bad for it until a couple of guys posted certain questionable things. All I said was that it wasn't particularly funny. It's basically the same as if someone posted a Dane Cook video and a bunch of us piled on because Dane Cook sucks. It's the same thing.
EDIT: And I was probably off for targeting the over 40 crowd. Most of the #### I deal with IRL is with meatheads and delta bravos in the under 30 crowd.

Not a womans fault. It's a mans fault. Got it.
Keep MRA out of it. I'm not an MRA. I treat feminists and MRAs the same. I'm a humanist we are all equal and we all have something to offer.

What percentage of the judges in these cases are women?

I guess maybe being older this is something I'm missing not hanging with the current crop of 20 year olds. That's simply something I would never condone.

That's pretty convenient that you can make that "there is nothing wrong with.." decision for other people.
I'm also sure that you are well accommodating to telemarketers, aggressive salespeople, and religious people knocking on your door or harassing you on the street. You can just say no and walk away.
Unless of course you find that kind of thing annoying and uncomfortable. But I'm sure you don't. Unwelcome interactions with people trying to sell you something or "closing the sale", in your words, are something you not only look forward to, but are flattered by. You are the one guy who isn't bothered by these things!

It's a big reason most of my friends my age, outside of the rad dudes I grew up with, are women.

I'm done with this thread because of a select few posters being a lot crazy but sentences like these are illogical. You should know when you are doing the thing of making assumptions about people, asserting hypothetical scenarios and telling people you are sure about things it means you are the one being irrational and illogical because the methods you are employing do not lead to knowledge and critical thinking. The worst is making assumptions about people and judging them based on those assumptions.

Damn. I saw your name and was getting all prepared to be learned with scientific evidence indicating women's predisposition to talking about themselves.

Is it really that hard to grasp that women might be a little bit touchy about a man overlooking our discomfort at being aggressively pursued a week after some nutjob murdered six people with his main reasoning being that women rejected him?
And in that same week at least two other men (unsuccessfully, thank god) shot at women who rejected them? A mass shooting happened at a gym less than five miles from where I'm sitting because some guy was upset because women rejected him.
Women give fake numbers not because they want to screw with a guy's head, but because they're afraid of the reaction if they actively reject him to his face.
No, not every man is likely to do this, but it still happens often enough that we are justified in being fearful of some Real Man insisting that we need to give him our number. In the last week we've learned that something as simple as not going out of our way to throw ourselves at a man can make him so angry he goes on a shooting rampage. It can--and has--happened all over the place, and especially the US. So as an American woman who is most certainly a feminist, it's kind of exasperating to have my very justified fears and concerns written off as "trolling."
If you aren't the one facing it, you don't get to decide whether or not it's okay to be offended.
Edit: Just to clarify, I'm expounding on your point, not arguing against it.

Like others have said about threads like these. I actually like when they come up. It really gives you a chance to see people's true colours.
