My preference for Stanley Cup winner right now would be:
1. Chicago
2. NY
3. LA
If LA beats Chicago, you've got to cheer for NY all the way. They haven't been to the show for 20 years and Lundqvist deserves a cup like no other. Say what you want about certain members of the team, it'd would be great for NY, the NHL, and some of the guys on that team to finally be in the same realm as "the best."
If Chicago beats LA, well, I love Chicago, so I can't very well cheer against them now can I?
I can just see the Canucks' organization saying, why the heck did we fire Alain Vigneault and hired Torts again???? Then they realized, why the heck did we hired Mike Gillis as a GM in the first place?? Duh!!!
I did not watched the game last night but I heard Lundqvist was awesome all game.

He was solid when he needed to be, but he didn't really face many chances. NY played a great game.

So I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but has anyone talked about the fact that Lundqvist threw his stick and it was only because of that he was able to make the save with the blocker?
As a goalie and a fan of neither team, I thought that was an automatic penalty shot. Nobody in the press or online has mentioned this yet.
Although I can't stand the smugness of Sather I actually have grown to respect AV over the years. He's classy as you never see him make a fool of himself on the bench or in front of the media. You can see he seems to be one of those guys that has a calming influence on his team. Really good coach. Also I can't cheer against Dominic Moore as of all the players left I feel he deserves a cup ring as something he can dedicate to his lost wife as he's been through a lot and it's great to see him continue his career given the adversity he has faced. Heck as much as I don't like how St.Louis handled himself with the trade thing it would probably be a nice positive for his family after their loss.
Yeah, he used to consistently out coach Sutter. But he did make a fool of himself a few times whining for calls. I still don't like him.

Thoughts?
A goalie can't throw his stick in an attempt to stop the puck with said stick but they are allowed to drop it so they can make a save with the blocker. It looked to me like that's what he did.

Vigneault never coached against Sutter when he was with the Flames
Edit: Appears I was wrong, AV joined the Canucks in 06, the last year Sutter was coaching the Flames. But Vancouver missed the playoffs that year and the Flames won the division, so he certainly didn't school Sutter
