Dorsett has always been a bit of an idiot. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to see him get a few games.

“@NHLPlayerSafety: Rangers defenseman John Moore will have a hearing Wednesday for an Illegal Check to the Head of Montreal forward Dale Weise.”

You couldn't get more blatant then looking at the guy then aiming at the side of a Mans Jaw the same as a Ram aims at his target. Weaver is luckey not to have his jaw broken there. Or maybe he does I'm not the teams Doctor. But Its possible . Quite similar angle of trajectory My Jaw got when it was wired for 6 months from a headbutt from a got that had NO helmet on. I think my own life experience with getting an sucker head butt may have been what has set me off on a couple of rants here. But when you get hit in the jaw out of the Blue it has some devastating effects of your overall physical heath and mental health.

He's got a modified NTC so I think he's safe.

That was a crazy 2nd period, crash bang boom with goals galore. Good move by Vigneault to pull Lundqvist and Therrien to keep Tokarski in net. I heard a few saying that Lundqvist should have gone back in net some time in the 3rd period but he needed to rest. He'll be ready for game 6 live from New York!

He's in great shape. I knew he'd be out half the game because of the Emelin injury.

Ugly win, but I'll take it. One game at a time.

IMO he should get 5 games minimum but the NHL puts themselves in these poor situations where they can't justify giving him more games than they just gave Prust for essentially the same hit. If they would get it right the first time and give Prust 5+ then they can skid Moore for almost the rest of the playoffs. Honestly when is the NHL ever going to get discipline right? It's an ongoing embarrassment.

So far no news about the headbutt? I would be surprised if they didn't even give him the slap on the wrist fine.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely agree with you. The trouble, if you can call it that, is partly attributed to the PA's weight in all this. It is the right of any disciplined employee to regain their duties and income ASAP, and it's the union's job to ensure that happens as quickly as possible and with as little impact on their member. Thus the league compensates and ends up giving these players somewhat paltry sentences, and when they do attempt to make a statement for the better of the game and players it seems rare that they do not receive some sort of backlash by way of an appeal. Of course they can always reject the appeal, but it makes for difficult relationships between the two entities come that wonderful time we all know and love called collective bargaining.

I'm sure it's not even that simple, but I'm hesitant to accuse the league of ineptitude without knowing the whole story or factoring in some other key elements in the decisions. If I were the league, the PA, or any of Prust/Moore's representatives I would want what's best for the league and the players, and deterring these kinds of dangerous and irresponsible plays is of utmost importance.

Indications as of right now are that Dorsett (headbutt), Bourque (crosscheck major) will not receive any form of supplemental discipline.

How doesn't Dorsett get a suspension? That headbutt was dirty.

A joke, but what else can we expect from this league.

The NHL is just a mess when it comes to supplemental discipline. Worst in major sports?

Went downtown for a cup of tea
And I saw two skinheads looking at me
I gave 'em headbutts (x4)
