Has anyone ever moved from greens to the PL section? Thinking about doing that this year if there are any row 1 pairs available, are there any downsides? Current green seats are pretty damn good, sec 216, which I consider to be one of the best values in the dome.

Yeah, I've been sitting in Hot House for a few years now (and have turned seats down a few times, but they keep your position in line), but I just got an email saying if I want to I can select my seats on June 4th.

That sounded like a waste of time so I called and they said they won't hold them, you have to trade the seats that you're interested in BUT they will hold your current seats and not release them right away, so that if you decide you don't want to move after you look at the view, you can get your current seats back. That sounds reasonable.

I was very happy with the process last year but I also think I was one of the luck ones who was able to improve my seats by several rows and move down in the whites. I do think it is a complete luck of the draw. I got my new seats on the first call I made and then i made 3 additional calls to see what else they had but nothing better ever opened up. I guess we will see what this year holds.

Not much to report. Pair in row 1 of PL17 or PL1. Best whites were row 10 on the end. Was on hold for half an hour waiting but prefer this to driving in to the dome.

How did it work? Did they just give you a list of options or did they ask you what you preferred then gave you some seats/options for you to choose from? I'm debating on driving there after work Thursday for my event or just calling in.

There should be two whites available now.
213, row 16. Attack end. Just inside the blueline. Exact middle of the section.
Moved down a couple rows, and a bit closer to centre.

I called and was on hold for a good ten minutes (called right at the start of my time). Basically you give them the area you are interested in and they see if anything is available. Mine was super easy since I am first row blacks on the blue line. I just asked if there was anything between me and center ice in the first row available. It's pretty much a hail-marry getting trying to get closer to center ice and staying in the first row. The call took 3 minutes.

Yeah I'm trying to find something east side PL section first 3 rows. Maybe I'll just call in. Save the drive. Thanks robbob!

Wow, if there were a couple of pairs of row 1 PL today, that's a good sign for folks wanting to move into them.
We went down to the dome and fluked into row 1 last year (from row 10). I was really happy. The only thing better would be aisle seats, but I don't think I'm going to bother calling in tomorrow for that. There are basically only 22 possible pairs in the entire building that would be "improvements" from where we already are.
To the guy in the greens who was thinking about this - DO IT. PL row 1 is an incredible view, and the people in the first 3 rows are all awesome. Plus you save a bundle, if that's important. The extra walk is totally worth it.

I called in today for my seat relocation event right at 445pm. I was on hold for maybe 15mins and was able to move from my current seats in PL 11 row 1 to Section 216 row 21, which was my first choice. Their were 3 sets in that section. Really easy process compared to the old way. Although it was always really fun to outrun other people.

Called at 4:45 as well, wasn't on hold for more than 5 min. (Sorry for getting ahead of you merlin). The fellow in the ticket office who took the call was super helpful and joking around, but a bit frazzled at the end of the day. Said it had been a long one.
I'm currently in 211 row 14, so only can go 3 rows lower in whites. Asked about sections 211-213 or 225-227 and no luck. To be honest, if I was in those areas I wouldn't give up my seats either. So I am standing pat for another year. I do like my seats, and have mostly good folks around them so I'm not in a hurry to move. But if 212 row 11 center ever miraculously pops up, I'd be all over it.

Checked again. Nothing new and the couple of pairs in black row 1 are gone. FYI.

Looks like we'll be neighbors next year. I just moved my 4 seats from 212 Row 19 dead center to 211 Row 14. Was surprised that 4 seats even opened up.
How's the view there? I did it over the phone, so I didn't get to see how it looked. I didn't mind moving off center, I love 211-213, close to the bars, and now, a few rows lower.

There was tons available when I called in. I had 15 different choices for the WHITES alone, and I was only asking for certain sections. I didnt even ask about any other colours either.

The view's fine, a bit of a blind spot in near corner but nothing to worry about with railings or tunnel top glass from where I am in the middle of the section. Attack end goal is a bit further but not too bad. Welcome to the section!

This was the case more or less for me the other day as well. There was one pair in row 17 but the rest were in 19 and up between 224-227. Unless I was getting into the first couple of rows of the whites maybe, I'm not giving up the aisle seats I currently have no matter how high they are. Just my preference I guess.
Props to the Flames staff. They were much more helpful this year than last year in trying to find options that might work for me. I still kind of miss the mad-dash around the arena though...
