For Adirondack, I really really liked what I saw from Doug Carr in his couple of games for the Heat. He was steady and Sigalet also liked what he saw from him. I'd consider him a solid AHL-signee to back up Ortio. In fact, don't be surprised if they do sign him.

No offense to Olivier, he's a good guy, but he's not cut out for the AHL game even as a backup.

The RFAs are going to make more money than you have there. You'll also have more than 1 guy in press box each night.
Yeah, offering less than $1 million to Bouma, Colborne and Byron would be a big insult. The cap will be over $70 million, they deserve $1 mill+ contracts.

What's wrong with Roy? Too much corruption from the Oilers' organization?
Semi-related question -- what happened to the last year of Kipper's contract? I know he retired so the Flames were off the hook for the cap hit last year, but if he were to unretire, is he still bound by the final year of his contract? And more importantly, could the Flames pay him the $1.5 million to sit in the press box and then apply his $5.833 cap hit to reach the floor?
Heck, I wouldn't even be opposed to Kipper warming the bench and playing 15-20 games a year backing up Ramo, but I'm guessing he's done stopping pucks for a living...
Miller is still a great starter, not a "good steady backup". He had a bad run in St. Louis but he's still got it. He was putting up great numbers considering he was on a dumpster Sabres team.

Yea I think he goes to San Jose or maybe even Vancouver (I can't see them going forward with Lack as the starter.. what a dumb idea to get rid of Schneider and Luongo).

Going out on a limb here, with Tokarski playing well and possibly fighting for a 1A/1B job with Price. Budaj would be the odd man out. he would be a great veteran presense and backup for a guy like Ramo.
Budaj has been playing better hockey, I remember he was atrocious on the Avs, but he's really picked up his game with the Habs. It's the playoff totals you have to worry about. Leave it all up to Ramo if we make it to the playoffs.
Emery for 1yr. Corey Schneider is the one they should be targeting. A long shot but one worth taking (7yrs@max), Ramo as a #2 (same money and term as now). and goaltending is secure till Gillies/Ortio can develop/prove themselves.
Bumping this thread to ask a question; With the Hiller signing, does this make Ortio the NHL backup when one of Hiller/Ramo get injured? I was hoping Ortio wouldn't be backup if either Hiller or Ortio got injured, I don't want to hurt Ortio's development and would rather keep him in the AHL the whole year as the starting goaltender.

I would think that if it is a short injury, Ortio would get another taste of the bigs - including playing.
If it is longer term injury, I would imagine they would look for another body
