For the first time in years, I've walked away from a superhero movie with basically no complaints from my brain (aside from the aforementioned Walkman in 1973)

Yes! Slow night at the theater. Sitting and waiting for this baby to start. Pretty pumped for this one.

Just noticed the new thread, my post here has spoilers.. usually these thread just change from speculation to full reviews once the movie comes out, like Godzilla. Usually with these threads I avoid them once the movie has hit Cineplex until after I've seen them.
There was an end credits scene featuring (spoiler)? Damn, we walked out fast because mmf's bladder was ready to pop. I'll have to watch again I guess.
Seriously, amazing movie, amazing xmen movie. I'm glad it was much more of a First Class sequel then anything but seeing some of the old crew again was great. Really loved the differences in style between the two time lines, loved seeing Bishop, Blink using some fantastic powers, loved Blink.
Quicksilver was awesome. Like most he was my only real hesitation but the kid killed it. Literally laugh out loud moments. The entire braking Magneto out of Prison sequence was done on a high level. "whhiiiippplaaassshhh".
Lots of thoughts to add but mostly happy it turned out so well. Plenty of moving parts for Bryan Singer to mess up and he pulled it together almost flawlessly. There were really only 2-3 major action pieces and that was more then enough, the strength of these movies has been characters. the 3rd Xmen was a pretty basic summer popcorn flick but doesn't hold a candle to this. Hack&Lube said it better though in other posts.
Fassbender as Magneto is damn perfect. All time best movie villain.

I didn't want to ruin the thread with another wall of text, so I put more thoughts about Days of Future Past in a spoiler tag to save some space.

I thought that this was a great film. When a friend of mine asked about it, I told him that it worked pretty well as a stand alone film, but that I felt he should probably watch XMen (2000) and XMen: First Class (2011) to get the most out of it.

I don't know what it was, but wasn't impressed with the movie last night. About 3/4 of the way through I was ready for it to be over. And that sucked because I was really looking forward to this. Just seemed to drag on for me.

It'll be interesting to see how the Avengers version of Quicksilver is reacted to. Once the general public has an imagine of one thing in their mind it's hard to accept a different version.
Just realised the Xmen Quicksilver was one of the friends In the first Kick-Ass movie, Kick Ass is of course played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is playing the Avengers version.
The more you know! *rainbow pans across monitor *

Ask in the other thread. There's no real answer, but we could speculate.

Does someone who hasn't seen the movie yet want a coupon for a movie ticket at Cineplex theatres?
I bought Skyfall to complete Bond collection and it came with $8 off for the new X-Men movie.

I made the other thread to try and avoid spoilers in this one because..
Maybe a mod could merge the threads and we could get SPOILERS put in the title of this one and then people can use the Ongoing thread to ask any non spoilered questions.

I will forever be shamed by my actions.. but now I rise above, instead of wallowing in self pity I make it my lifes mission to prevent spoilers from spreading across the Calgarypuck!
How do we get mods to merge threads?
I can't fricken wait for AoA now:

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast about "X-Men: Days of Future Past," executive producer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg also briefly discussed 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse," indicating that Bryan Singer will likely be back in the director's chair for the upcoming sequel. When asked if Singer would return as director for "X-Men: Apocalypse," Kinberg responded, "That is the plan."

I actually tried to change the thread title, to make it for all the Xmen films, upcoming movies, discussion about production etc but it wouldn't change. Maybe I'll just report the first post and ask a mod to do it.
Anyways, yeah, any Age of Apocalypse, X Force or newest Wolverine news can go here.
Hoping Quicksilver and maybe Blink somehow have an expanded role in the new one.

Agreed. I can see Quicksilver joining a Magneto Brotherhood.
I also really enjoyed Blink and her creative use of the portals (with Bishop and Colossus inparticular).
