I'm seeing some similarities to the Brentwood stabbing here.

Why is it always the same message from so-called experts on how to keep this kind of gun violence from happening, all you hear is "guns are here to stay" or "we can't take away guns" we need to stop the mentally ill from getting them.

What the hell is wrong with these people, mental illness can happen at any time, why do these idiots think they can stop someone crazy from getting a gun when there's one available at every street corner.

How about someone step up and grow a pair like Jack Straw (UK) and John Howard (Australia) did after senseless massacres, rising murder rates and shootings...step up and tell the public. Enough! and ban the damn things.

I can't understand why people in the USA think they are any different then the rest of the civilized world.

Two things should be the focus of this story:

1) GUNS
2) Violence against women

So sad.

They kind of are different from the rest of the world leader countries when it comes to gun culture. I don't think you can change that country when it comes to guns, they want them, they think they need them and unfortunately they have to live with the consequences of the "freedom" of guns that too many in that country fight for.

Sadly when 20+ children die in a school shooting, all they can do is go "yep, that's America" and be sad about it.

The UK had guns a lot longer than the USA, people were marching in the streets to keep their guns. In the end the message was clear. tough, were banning them.

I'm a little ignorant to British history so maybe you can clarify; Regardless of how much longer the UK had guns, was their gun culture as extreme as it is in the US when they had them? I can't see that being the case.

I can tell you that I won't give my guns up to appease some anti gun person. Don't try to shove your rhetoric down my throat. (Anti gun crowd).

Started out by killing his roommates with a knife, then did in fact go to the sorority and killed multiple women before wading out in his car and firing at random people. Nine crime scenes in total before he killed himself.

Scary thing is... It went pretty much according to plan. He uploaded this at the same time as his retribution video.

http://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/225960813

Differences would be he didn't get to spend the kind of time he wanted inside the sorority and he never made it to his brother.

This is why America's gun culture won't change in our lifetime. Think of people with this line of thinking, times millions. They won't get rid of guns in that country, there's too many people that don't want things to change.

in the meantime, it's the stubbornness and a perceived "need" for guns of people like PIMKing (I don't mean any offense) that will keep guns a vital part of America's culture and will ensure that mass shootings/major gun tragedies will continue to be common place in the US for decads to come.

I don't care who or how many innocent people die. I'm keeping my guns.

It's a chicken or egg thing though, and I can understand the mentality. I hate the idea of guns, but I still wouldn't live in the US and not be armed. There are millions of psychotic gun owners, and your only practical defence against one, is to own a gun. The only way to fix the problem there now is magic. Every single gun needs to vanish in an instant, that would be the only solution.

But I can certainly understand where guys like PIMking come to their way of thinking. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't when every mentally unstable and twitchy redneck and gang banger is armed to the teeth.

None take, I know that some hate guns, I take them very serious and mine are all locked up and safe.
Don't forget that a lot of illegal guns were given out by both the Bush and Obama admins...

Also just because some rich kid isn't getting laid by other rich kids doesn't mean he needs to kill innocent people.

Tough talk, but in the end I would bet you would give them up instead of jail..after all, what possibly could make your guns so important to you?.

For the record I'm not just an anti gun person, I'm only against guns specifically made for killing people, handguns and assault weapons belong in the same place as hand grenades and rocket launchers.
