I called and we will be allowed into the dome to view the available seats, but they will not hold them, as people will be phoning in as well.

I missed the relocation event last year so I am unfamiliar with this new process. Is there even any point going to the dome with people being able to phone in? Even if you go to the dome, wouldn't you just be talking to some at the ticket office. I would imagine with this format they aren't running the papers to the seats to show availability.

They called me last year for the event but they emailed me in advanced asking me what sections I prefer etc. So when my relocation event day happened they called gave me some of the options and I can decline or accept.

I was wondering if it's worth it this year to go in or call.. Mine is on the 29th at 3:30

I'm on the 27th at 10.30am. In Section 219 looking to drop a few rows and look at either 218 or 220 as well.

Exactly .... in the past, I just hung around the Dome for a few hours, working on my laptop, waiting for seats to become available where I was looking. I have been able to do very well with seat relocation over the years by doing so.

Now, what am I supposed to do? Sit on the phone line with a ticket rep and have them hit refresh all day?

I hate this new method of relocation.

Oh, I'm a STH since "Save the Flames" in '99. My relocation time is May 27 at 11:45 am.

What kind of seats do you have Draug? Approximate area and row is interesting. Those were some dark days when you joined.

Not a lot of movement in the AYC. Couldn't move closer the centre from 214 and nothing good row 10 and up in the lower club seats

Looks like a miscommunication from my better half. We are Thursday the 29th at 10.30 not Tuesday.

One pair in 212 Row 13 and one in 212 Row 8... With this new system, I am confident I wont do any better.

Seems like more than before it is all luck if anything becomes available minutes before you see what is available. Did you call in or go to the ticket office?

Yeah this new system kinda stinks. "Upgraded" last year and everyone I took to games agreed with my the new seats suck. I wonder why they ditched a system that worked and was sort of fun.

Are you saying that it's a bad system because you can't see the seats that you're upgrading to?

I think before you had a time you could come in at but not a time to leave by. I don't remember correctly. So some people would come in and hang around the dome a few hours to see if anything pops up (they put pieces of paper on the seats that were available. So people would come in and yank a few sets of the seats and hold on to them until they "made up their mind" or until something better pops up)

Yeah I never took tags and hung onto them. Maybe that's why it had to change but I liked being able to sit in the actual seat to see if I liked the view. My seats this year seemed good in the seating chart but had terrible instructions from the hand rail and fans leaving seats at whistles.

Yup two years ago I went down to pick me seats, I had to sit at every seat I was interested in to make sure nothing was obstructing me. Last year was a phone offer and I choose not to move because I wasn't sure if anything would block my view.

Interesting. You'd think they'd have this figured out by now so it can't be "gamed" and also people can see the view from their seats.

My letter says I can phone in or go in person. I'm assuming if you go in person, you can go look at the seats. But, how do you know they don't get assigned to someone else calling in while you're walking? Do they still mark the available seats with paper?

This is my first year with system. Last year, the first two or three days were done with the old method of in person with tagged seats. Then the flood hit, and I guess they went with the new method to finish the process.

I expect that this method is a big fail. Probably the Flames can cut costs this way, so I doubt we'll ever get the old way back.

quick question - after the relocation is complete, presumably new season's tickets are up for grabs to HH members?
