Cheapest is Wind, as long as you stay in the city for most of your time. You pay for roaming outside the city, but it is still cheaper unless you roam a ton.

Is it possible to change the location of the plan on Wind? I am currently going through job/career changes and there's a decent chance I might have to move out of Calgary, but also need a better phone for networking and stuff like that.

Buy the Nexus 5 straight from Google Play, then have the freedom to pick whichever carrier you want. You can do with Wind Mobile and go with one of their plans. Ff you think you will be travelling lots or not in the city Rogers has a Bring Your Own Device deal that will knock 20 bucks a month off the plan when you go month-to-month. Much better option and saving in the long run to bring the Nexus 5 in and do that.

As long as you are in a Wind zone, it works. Check thier website for details on which cities have Wind coverage

If you have an unlocked phone, I'd recommend getting a roam mobility sim card. Pretty cheap, decent amount of data, specific the date/time to activate it, and even free calling back to Canada.
www.roammobility.com
I think you can buy it locally from London Drugs or something also.

On Wind, you have unlimited US roaming for $15 a month
Tmobile is cheapest at $2a day ($3 for 200MB per day of 4G speed) + $10 SIM. You eed to purchase prepaid credit in $10 blocks though.
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/p...ll-phone-plans
Roam mobility is $20 SIM card, that you need to wait for delivery or pick up before you go. This can be good if you want coverage during a layover etc. $4 a day for unlimited talk/text and 300MB 4G data , but you have to buy it in bundles of 1,3,7, 14 or 30 days
Roam Mobility resells T-Mobile service, so they are otherwise equiv in terms of coverage/speed/etc.

Awesome - so with Wind, should be a matter of just calling them up to add this on for a month, correct?
(Pardon the cell phone bill of death paranoia)

Anyone know what speed the US roaming with wind is? I couldn't find anything on their site talking about what speed the roaming data actually was. Just wondering if it is 2G.

Called Wind - do it through online account - they even prorate it for duration you're there, but would charge extra month if runs into following bill date.
