Yeah, that's the tough part. Usually you back your league - was pulling for Kelowna in 2009 even after they eliminated Calgary in the final. But Edmonton? Nope.

Guelph is looking very hard to beat though. I doubt Edmonton could take them in a seven game series, but if they end up in a semi or the final, that one game take all format makes adds a considerable amount of random luck and level of performance to the equation.

I am beginning to really dislike the Memorial Cup, they need to ditch the host team, if they will not give every CHL city an opportunity to host it then the host team should not get automatic entry. Replace the host city's team with the runner up from the host league and then you have something.

What's that mean for the Oil Kings? Nice to see the host darling of the League London get a couple days rest. No back to backs for them I'm sure.

The way I understand it if London beats Guelph than they play the Oil Kings for the right to play Val-d'Or. If London loses they're out and the Oil Kings play Val d'Or in the semis.

I think Guelph has 1st locked up as they've beaten Val d'Or so they may not try to hard to win.

Yup. London has a huge hole to dig out of right now. They would have to win three games in three nights, and four in five to take the title. A London win means Edmonton would have to win three games in four nights. Val D'or will be cheering hard for the Knights tonight.

Guelph Storm destroy the London Nights 7-2. This means London is eliminated and the Oil Kings play Val d'Dor in the semis on Friday. Winner plays Guelph Sunday afternoon.

Well, that was a gong show. London was terribly coached and had many selfish players this whole year. They got by on talent alone which is fine against the lesser teams, but really shows up when you play quality opposition.

Sure Domi, Horvat and Zadarov have played on average of 90+ games a year, but Dale Hunter used the exact same break out, especially on the PP all year. By about mid year, teams were just sitting where the Knights were going to be and where they were going. He didn't change a thing. The Knights also had many players who would take selfish penalties after the whistle, or take runs at guys. Very undisciplined team, which is something we have not seen around here with the Hunters.

Talent only gets you so far.

Guelph has easily been the best team, and it's not even close. It will be a major upset if Edmonton or Val-D'or even makes a game of the final.

Some undrafted kid named Gelinas ties it up for Val d'Dor in the last minute. OT coming. Small defenceman who scored 23 goals and 69 assists this year.

Seems like a longer OT intermission than the Habs game so they could squeeze in 2 bonehead panels from SN. Only 12 years of this garbage. Yay.

Yea, he will be turning pro somewhere next year, (this was his overage year) not sure if he will get an NHL deal, but those are some amazing numbers for a d-man.
