It was a game involving the Rangers so I slept through a large chunk of the game, but from what I saw the goalie saved them.

Not sure if Kypreos is stating the rule here or confirming the ruling. But it sounds like 10 games.https://twitter.com/RealKyper/status/469863726049288192

It is a perfect example of the very stuff the NHL wants to be rid of.
The fact tthat it was somehow missed by officials is atrocious, and will be a factor in a longer suspension, I think.

Gonna come and retract that? I'd like to see how you would react to a broken jaw.

he was jabbering pretty good for a guy with a broken jaw after the play, can't blame Eldrick for that initial opinion.

How about we do not jump to conclusions about a player faking an injury to draw a penalty?
How many times have you been hit and needed a couple of minutes to gather yourself before heading back into the play?

And adrenaline does a funny thing to people, you could have a injury and not even know it until later.

Lol keep widening those goal posts. You initially said "not a hit to the head so no major". I was just pointing out that there doesn't have to be a head hit for the ref to call a major.

Should have been an interference penalty but the hit itself wasn't a headshot. Prust burried his shoulder into Stepan's shoulder. This is the kind of hit that would have make rockem sockem back in the day, keep your head up boys. If anything the NHL needs to reduce the amount of plastic armor these guys wear. If you mandate a soft shell shoulder pad and elbow pads guys wouldn't get injured as much.

Alain Vigneault, in his comments about Prust today, unwittingly traced this all back to Krieder taking Price out of the series. Once Krieder got away with the that, it may have established this series as a kind of escalating Rollerball(1975 - IMDB) game where the rules are stripped away game by game.

Fine, you got me. Two minutes for interference, plus the mandatory viewing of at least 30 minutes of Tim Hudak attack ads. Seems fair.

Here is the rules for abuse of official suspensions: http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26328
Carcillo's actions fall somewhere between category II and III, imo. Whether Carcillo gets 10 or 3 will depend on what category the referee and linesman declared the foul to be.

I would probably lean toward the 10 game side myself, as that did not appear to be an inadvertent act.

I'm amazed people are ####ting their pants over a hockey play, while bending over backwards to defend a player who assaulted a referee.

Wait... No, I'm not.

Hitting someone in the head when he doesn't have the puck is not a hockey play. It's a joke.

Hockey play? lol in what universe?

Who is defending carcillo? I've skimmed this thread and haven't noticed a single post defending him, must less bending over backwards to do so. I certainly haven't - his season should be over and then some.

Wah. Wah. Wah.

If Kreider did that to Pacioretty, you'd be calling 911.
