Irrelevant to us (and the Americans), but it's completely relevant to the other countries in the tournament.

Lol. Seems like there's no way we can suck ourselves out of the medal games

Not exactly a game for the ages, even if it was probably the best game by Finland so far. Mostly won on goaltending I would say.

lol. I was hoping we could at least lose in the semifinals this year, just for a change of pace.

Somewhat relevant, the IIHF is considering rule changes. Among them, making goaltender interference a double minor penalty. Also, "twisting" a player's head would become a major (along with any deliberate "grabbing" or "holding" of the head)

Can someone show what happened? I love seeing Canuck/Oiler players fail.

Some of us consider this tournament very relevant. It is the World championships afterall.

I don't care much about the tournament as such, but hey, winning is always better than losing

Of course it's nice to see your Country play well and win rather then lose, but this is the kind of tournament that can be easily shrugged off.

I doubt even the players in the tournament will lose sleep over the early exit.

It's actually enjoyable to watch the World Championships just for the fact that the teams are much more even. Blowouts are good for a laugh, but your going to follow a tight game more closely then a blowout.

The big thing to take into consideration is that even though Canada lost, it doesn't really reflect on the overall skill of the Country. Every other country has their A or B team while Canada could of filled 3-4 roster's before turning to many (if not all) of these players.

Bottom line... We lost, big whoop, wanna fight about it?

It's just hard to get too emotionally involved when we don't have our best players playing. I can watch the games and cheer for Canada while wanting them to win but if we lose, it's kind of like "oh w/e, out best players are all in the playoffs or opted not to go anyways"

As do I but not at the expense of Team Canada. As has been said when you assemble a team that has Oilers and Canucks playing important roles failure is inevitable which is a shame and Team Canada management assembling the team should know better.

I personally find it insulting a total clown like Bieksa was given the "C". The guy is one of the main reasons the Canucks never won anything. He's everything you don't want in a leader as he's a hot head, only tough when he knows he has the advantage, plays like crap in big games, a yapper that's all talk.

Thought Monahan played well. He looked a little slow on the big ice, but he was very sound positionally (sp?), and puck control was strong.

Monahan looks slow on Nhl ice too.
Which leads me to believe he needs some work.

Speed's not really his game. In his exit interview he did say that he wanted to mainly work on his explosiveness, so maybe that will be something to watch out for come fall.

If he can improve this part, his game will go to next level.
If I was him I would take a look at Poirier's technique.

It's hard for me to have interest in this tournament just cuz of the start times. I'm sure if they were played in Primetime I would be more interested. Still sucks to see Canada lose, but I'm not too upset over it.

If Monahan can improve on his first 2 or 3 steps he will become a dominant player and since he is still only 19 I have full belief that he will accomplish what he wants. He seems to take his training very seriously.

It will be scary if he is a fast skater.
