Ekblad's my top choice.

Draisaitl probably my top forward.

I'm pretty sure we're going to get Bennett, but I could see Buffalo valuing his physical game a bit more.

If we get Reinhart I'll be ecstatic - that kid could very easily be the #1 overall pick.

I feel that if we pick Reinhart this year, he'll end up playing as a RW instead of a centre. In my mind, the Monahan line in a few years will be
Gaudreau-Monahan-Reinhart

Preferably Reinhart but Bennett would be fine too. I hope if they go out of the top 4 it is for Ehlers.

Is everyone like myself who has a real hate for European players, that is why I WILL be disappointed with Draisatll? Nothing against the kid and what he can bring, just pure old Canadian faith is notching this kid down!

And complete ignorance whether this kid is great or not?

I can't really see Reinhart kicking out to the wing; he's an amazing centre. Championship teams have elite centre depth.

So is this a guy with two accounts who accidentally responded to himself before he switched?

Whichever of the top 4 is left. Dal Colle appears to be a step below the rest. I think it will be one of the Sam's.

But there there is a wildcard IMO and that is if Ekblad and Draisaitl go 1st and 2nd. I think that scenario could see the Oilers move their pick.

One more for Sam Reinhart here.

Too many positives to ignore:

Great player

Could be used as a C or W

Dad was a Flames alumni so he will have a sense of connection to the team and a lifer

Would have seen/heard expectations and systems from Max so less surprises and perhaps easier/quicker adjustment

Long shot: If he happens to have the same success as Monahan, family is close by and he can live with them and stay grounded.

I feel like Sam Bennett would just fit this teams identity. A skilled, gritty, hard-working two way center is always welcome.

A "Gaudreau-Bennett-Poirier" line would be a deadly combo of speed, grit and skill.

No seriously, I think it will be Bennett.

If Ekblad, Reinhart and Bennett are off the board before we draft, I'd stay far away from Draisaitl. Hockey history is littered with supremely skilled and talented players who busted because they couldn't skate.
