Hiller probably wants a longterm 5-6 year deal. No thanks, I'd rather wait and see what Rammo/Orito/Gillies will amount to in the next few years. Just a 1-2 year stopgap to play 30 games a season would work best.

Hiller can want whatever, it's what the market will give. Is there anyone out there wanting to hand out a 5 year deal to a guy who got benched for a highly inexperienced AHL guy when his team was on the verge of elimination?

My ideal situation would be that we have a main back-up that can be switched with Ortio in order to still get Ortio a few NHL games next season.

I get they want him to get a lot of starts, but given his progress, it would be a shame if he doesn't get a few NHL games at least.

Prior to Treliving's hiring, I thought there was a very good chance that Burke would sign Hiller (he was the one who brought him over from Europe in the first place).

I still think it will likely be either Greiss, Hiller, or Gustavsson. All three have ties to either Burke or Treliving and seem to be the odd man out with their current team.
