Yu Darvish looks like he is about to become this generation's Dave Steib. Two no-hitters broken up with two outs in the ninth, and another broken in the 8th already in his career.

Very frustrating as a Rangers fan. Especially when you look at the names of some people that have no-nos.
Still he's an amazing tallent. If only the rest of his team could stay healthy

Johnny Cueto has been lights out so far this year. 3 Complete games on the season and 6 straight games with 8 or more innings pitched.
Another promising pitcher, Jose Fernandez is done...Tommy John surgery for the Marlins ace. Crazy how many under 25 guys who were on innings limits end up needing this proceedure.

I'm beginning to wonder if the reason for the Tommy John's is that pitchers might not be getting used enough and they don't have the build up of arm strength necessary. I don't know, it just seems that TJ's seem to have risen a lot since pitching limits have been imposed.

Quarter of the way thru the season, and not much separating teams. Oakland and Detroit are early leaders in the AL and than a glut of teams that are pretty close to each other. NL isn't much different, San Fran, Milwaukee, Atlanta leading their divisions. Really there is as much or more parity in MLB as there is in the NHL since there are no three point games to make the standings seem closer. There are 5 teams playing really badly, 5 teams ahead of the group, and about 20 hanging out around 500. I think a luxury tax with some teeth does work.

Poor JP. Wonder if he can land on his feet somewhere else in the future. His stats from this year and last are just terrible. I had no idea that last season he had the 4th worst OBP since 1901. That's rough.

He has a terrible attitude about it, blaming the media for his failings as a baseball player. He needs to stop acting like a bitch and man up.

JP just needs to switch to 1B and fix his swing for a bit more contact and he'll be fine.

So he turned down a 14.1 million dollar qualifying offer to sign a one year deal for 10 million. Mind you considering he got to take the first quarter of the season off, it's pretty much a wash.
I wonder how happy he is with his agent after this one.

Back surgery for Prince Fielder, he's done for the year.

The Redsox are just terrible right now. At least there was a bit of a fight in the team today.
Yunel Escobar is a punk though. Not defending the Sox for getting pissy over a stolen base, but Escobar pointing at the bench and seemingly antogonizing the whole team, and then back pedalling as soon as someone stepped up to fight him was a weak move.

Their awfulness rubbed off on my Tigers, they've been terrible since sweeping the Sox.
