Geez, this size thing is getting old, if that was a 6'0 tall player it would be just a fantastic play with no issues. Fact is though, not many other players of any size can make that play period. Johnny does it all the time.
Did I say anything about size? Pretty sure I didn't. I am talking about the move...has nothing to do with his size.

But, these are not all NHL players. Does Chara or Subban miss that check? Not sure.

That's what Brian McGrattan is for.

One of the things that makes him so good is his iq, he pulled that against germany, but I think if he is coming down on someone like pk who will run around sometimes he will make a smart play to protect himself. He has shown an ability to try those moves at the right time, not all the time

Damn, this seems like it would've been a great game to see on tv with Johnny and Draisaitl both playing a pretty nice game.

In other news, I can't believe NBC showed that game.... I don't think I've ever recalled seeing the World Championships on tv in the US. Maybe now that they have NBCSN they have more room.

What a great morning of hockey! Johnny/Monahan/Draisaitl all looked good.

Getting more and more difficult not to get excited about Gaudreau.

Can't even remember the last prospect the Flames had in their system with so much raw talent.

Draisaitl is a stud, I'm starting to wonder if he will be picked top 2.

- Russia will face Czech's or France
- USA/Belarus will face Sweden, Czech's or France

Wow this Czech-France game is crazy 3-0 France at one point. The Czechs took the lad 4-3 in the 3rd and then France tied it to force OT

Boy those French are making a statement this year. Kind of pulling for them a bit just for that, thought they'd be slaughtered.

I guess losing to France wasn't that bad afterall! Could they beat the US?

That's the next matchup right?

Not seeing this at all. He was looking forward first and was aware who was there. It's not like his head was on backwards. He surely surveyed who was in front of him.

Yeah...I give up. Johnny is great and how dare I even think he could get his clock cleaned.

Move along...nothing to see here.

He's going to get murdered non-stop.

Are you happy now?

We're all very aware he's small and has the potential to get killed like anyone else.

Nice job at deflecting your poor read of that play. You clearly said he could have got hit because he turned his head, when it was pretty easy to see he had a great read on who was in front of him. How that projects to his career path is beyond me. It was a simple comment about one play.
