Milos is off to the semi's with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win. Ferrer or Djokovic await.

The fact he's turning this corner on clay is huge. I'd love to him to face Ferrer next, which would be a true clay challenge. Djokovic is always a battle, but Ferrer seems to know a little something extra about those courts.

Milos takes on Joker in the semis...

Djokovic, who sat out last week's Madrid Open, overcame a stiff challenge from David Ferrer before grinding out a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 win. Djokovic double-faulted on his first match point but then won a 38-shot rally before eventually closing it out in just over 2 1/2 hours.

Raonic is looking every bit Djokovic's equal right now. He took the first set 7-6, and they are tied 5-5 in the second. Neither guy is doing much against the other's service game.

Appropriately perhaps, Djokovic takes the second in a tiebreak. Novak is getting stronger too...

I'm at work looking at the score. Has there been a break in this game?

They broke eachother once, in the first set I believe. The second set - the last half at least - was nearly all games won at love or 15.

Djokovic just broke Raonic to open the third set though.

So close... Raonic was probably Djokovic's equal for 90% of that match. The 10% came in the third set though. Huge ovation for Milos from the crowd in Rome as he exits.

3 hours for a three setter is pretty intense, Milos certainly made him earn it. Sort of ran out of gas at the end but that's why Djokovic and the big 4 are a level above, they have the extra gear to go to. Milos just needs to get that extra gear and he'll be there competiting for majors.

Yay! GirlySports is back! I've missed your Canadian tennis updates. This thread has been kind of dead while you were away.

Welcome back GirlySports, we sort of tried to keep things going, but some roles are just fulfilled best by the right person. Now that Milos is allegedly a clay ace, maybe we'll actually have stuff to get excited about during the French for a week or so.

Speaking of Genie, she's into the quarter-finals of a clay court tourney in Nuremberg, Germany.
