Smart by the Blues. Miller is not worth what he'll cost anymore.

I can see them wanting to, hard to envision Miller signing that contract. He just came from an Edmonton scenario for most of the season.

Miller wants to sign in California to be close to his actress wife.

Miller to Anaheim. Miller/Gibson/Andersen.... Anaheim will grab Miller. 6m x 5 years for Miller? Anaheim has the space.
As for the Flames, I was really wanting to sign a guy like Elliott, he can play starter minutes when he had to. Pretty much the best back up goalie a team could ask for.

Miller is certainly not an upgrade over Niemi, Quick, or Smith. I don't see Anaheim signing him over Andersen either.

I would think that Anaheim would like the idea of a vet like Miller to complement Gibson.
And Miller would take way less (I'll bet) to play in Cal
Seems like a no brainer - and I don't think the Oilers could get enough zeroes on the page to get him interested in going there

I don't know why Anaheim would give the guy a long term deal when they've got two young guys who look ready to take over. One or two years maybe, but why five years?

He's going to Vancouver, I am sure. None of the Californian teams need him. Vancouver does.

One thing about Van - would signing Miller influence Kesler's desire to stay?
Howson hired. Miller signed. Kesler stays.
Dare to dream, Arnold!

@mikemorrealeNHL: With Miller apparently out of STL plans, BUF gets 2016 3d-rd pick from STL; not a '14 1st-rd pick as part of conditional portion of trade

Yeah - Miller will be 34 in July. Doesn't make sense for Anaheim to sign him to anything more than 3 years at most. I'm sure Miller is looking for a longer term though and if that's the case, it's going to narrow his list down quite a bit IMO. If the West Coast is where he wants to end up then I think that'll take a couple of potential suitors out of the mix. I could have seen a team like the Isles being interested.

I take back my 6 x 5. Keep thinking Miller is 32, but he's only going to get a 2, 3 year deal at 34.

The Miller trade ends up as follows
Ryan Miller and Steve Ott for Chris Stewart, Jaroslav Halak, William Carrier, 2015 1st round, 2016 3rd round.
I have also read in some Shark blogs that it might be time to move on from Niemi. If true Sharks are definitely considering Miller. Niemi only has 1 year left on his contract.

Miller won't go anywhere in Canada. It's pretty well-known he doesn't want to play up here. He'll go to San Jose or Anaheim.
