In terms of pure talent and puck skills, those are the guys in Flames history.
Other guys were better players, or more complete games, or dominant in other areas. But in terms of passing and puck skills, those are the Flames to be measured against.
If Gaudreau is even in the same galaxy as Kent Nilsson we have a superstar in the making. It may be a little premature to throw that name out there!
I love watching this kid, but I'm a little worried some goon is going to end his career in the show. It's going to be pretty interesting to see if he can handle the grind and abuse of the NHL; hopefully he figures it out (or takes HGH and grows a foot)
Not as bad as Toews pronounced as Tayvs. I don't know who pulled that one out of their ass.
In German, a "w" is pronounced like an English "v." Depending on the dialect, the German diphthong "oe" sounds a lot like the French "oeuil" or like some Hollywood-exaggerated New Yorker saying "hey;" to wit, "uh-ee."
I can't say I know how German speakers actually pronounce "Toews," except that a literal interpretation would vaguely resemble "tuh-ee-vs."

That's why we have mcgrattan and hopefully a few more puniishers to watch out for the kids.
The problem is that McGrattan, etc. will be on the 4th line and Johnny and company will be on the 1st or 2nd.
The idea would be to establish early on that there will be dire consequences for anyone that goes after the kids. That's why I'm happy to see players like mcgrattan, Westgarth (I know... He's a UFA), ferland, kanzig, and wolf part of the team.
Whether they're on the same line or not... Anything close to a hit on guys like gaudreau should be met by Hartley releasing the hounds.
JG would be a hockey god if he was 6'7. Not at the size he is at now. With the horrible, horrible crap that was the "Ramgod" stint a few months back, I hesitate to believe anything good will come of anyone throwing god terminology at any player; unless we make Mushu dragon jokes about JG.
I mean, if we can adapt Chuck Norris jokes, go for it. But a flying Ramo with tits, halo and wings potentially ported over to JG? No more please.

Awesome. My only question is how does Gaudreau get pronounced Goodreau? Ugh. A-U is not the same sound as O-O. I know I'm nitpicking, but I find it annoying!
Dustin Bufflin says "chill out...you'll get used to it!"

Agreed
I was merely correcting a list of former flames with out of this world puck skills. JG has a long way to go to get anywhere near that list.
Nilsson is actually my favorite flame of all time (Fotiu next). Im excited about JG but am not expecting him to be the next Magic Man or anything near that - at least not for 3 or 4 years.

Once again, Johnny looked like the best forward on the ice in today's game. He thinks the game at such a high pace it's really noticeable. And that toe drag he pulled off is going to make eberle feel a little insecure.
Thought he was Team USA's best forward out there yet again, and it seems he's now their go-to guy on the power play (for good reason).
Disclaimer: Johnny Gaudreau is still young and has many areas of his game to work on. His brilliance seen here in no way equates to him becoming the next Patrick Kane or Wayne Gretzky and any complimentary comments about his current play are put forth with this inherent acknowledgement
