I was talking about the playing the officials point. Don't forget Burrows was literally choking back tears as he complained about the refs being out to get him.

That was part of the Bruins complaint. They don't like other teams playing the refs but they do it as much as anyone. If I meant to say what you think I said, I would use "plays" instead of "playing".

Doesn't make the Bruins diving any less laughable.

So glad the Bruins are done. I'll probably cheer against Montreal now because I don't want a Canadian team to win the Cup before the Flames but I am super glad that team of sore losers, bullies, whiners and rats is done with. Lucic and Marchand are true scum.

I'm a huge Bruins fan, and I'm finding it pretty hard to like Lucic at this point. If you want to play like a mean, old time hockey guy, thats great. But own up to disrespecting the game. He isn't helping anyone at this point.

I never said that it didn't. It's laughable no matter who does it, it's just really dumb to point out all the Bruins dives when Montreal did it just as much.

Chis Nilan went off on Lucic the other day about the handshake on TSN690.
"Dumb as a bag of hammers, a baffoon, real stupid, an ape, a clown, disrespected the league, makes Bruins look bad, embarrassed everyone, a fool, not a man, a little man, brain the size of a pea"
I love Knuckles Nilan - old school guy to say the least.
Here is the link to the podcast - the Lucic stuff is about 8 minutes in, but the rest is good stuff too, if you can put up with some Habs love otherwise

I dont know what Lucic thought he was going to accomplish with these kinds of comments.

He had his opportunity to compete and to win. He didnt show up and they lost. Whats he going to do now, wait for Weise in the parking lot?

I almost wonder if the NHL should make a strong rule with strong discipline about handshake etiquette. We're hearing about a story like this every year now. It takes away from the game and the whole point of the handshake. I mean, there's no point in even doing it if you get this crap.

Even Brodeur, whom I think would be one of the most respected players in the league, was a dick about it a few years back. Now, if you're going to be a dick to anyone, Avery would be the person, but just suck it up for a moment and be the bigger person.

I'm really feeling like they should clean it up, or get rid of it all together, cause we spend more time talking about incidents like this than we should now. In trying to promote good sportsmanship, we're getting poor sportsmanship. It's having exactly the opposite effect. Yes, most go fine, but look which ones we are talking about.

I guess the lesson for Boston is that truculence is overrated.

I've played against Nilan for a tv show and he was a major prick on the ice and in the dressing room. But I agree with everything he said in those podcasts.

The handshake is the most phoney bunch of crap on all professional sports. We want the athletes to play with emotion, so I'm not gonna stand on a pedestal afterwards and say lucic should've held his toungue the only one who said something stupid was Weise for telling the media like a cry baby
