Not to my eye.
He is trying to handle it to start, realizes he can't and makes decision to dish it to open ice at point... whether that is to a man he knows is open and stepping up, no way to know, but to me he clearly looks and passes it back at the end.

You can see him look up and see the Open ice. He goes down and has to make the play somehow.

I have to say, the USA has been fun to watch in this tournament.
I mean, outside of Johnny, they've been terrible. Just awful. Complete pond-hockey.
Its entertaining.

I have to disagree. He clearly reaches for it to corral it on the forehand but misses. Doesn't take away from his awesomeness.

My God, not putting Gaudreau on the top line should be all it takes to get Laviolette out of there. This US team is a joke outside of Trouba, Jones and Gaudreau.

I don't know the exact TOI stats but Gaudreau seems to be out there as much as anyone else
