I'm not expecting a lot of goals.

Probably lots of overtime.

Can't see how the Habs aren't favoured.
They have been as good or better than any team in the playoffs this year - swept Tampa, beat Boston. Home ice this time too.
Gotta be low scoring - 4 goals scored in their three meetings this year.
Goaltending is probably even. Edge to defense of Montreal, simply Subban. Even up front I guess too.
The only unknown is whether the Habs 'Stanley Cup' just ended. Could be a big letdown and definitely not the same motivation as against Boston - but shouldn't need any extra now anyway.
Habs in 6 or less.

Team will attend St. Louis Mom's funeral Sunday.
Good stuff, Rangers!

I wanted New York out a while ago because I thought st-Louis was a bit of a baby with how he dealt with the Olympics/yzerman.

Now that he lost his mom I feel bad for him and would make a nice story if they continued to win.

Meh, I've done it a few times and never got anything more than a little friendly ribbing. Rangers fans are pretty apathetic to the Flames...as most Flames fans would be to a guy wearing a Rangers jersey.

In terms of the series, I will be cheering for the Rangers (I guess) but I think Montreal will win. They've got some good momentum going.

I honestly don't care who wins this one. The cup is going out west again anyways.

The Rangers are such a blah team. They could suck the life out of any series. Montreal to their credit has at least played some exciting hockey so far this playoffs. I'm mostly hoping that Western Conference champion makes quick work of whoever wins this series.

Original Six rivals will meet again for the 13th time in the playoffs.

vs

These teams have hardly played each other in the playoffs despite being in the same conference for the past 35 years. See the first post of this thread for the schedule.

I would not be surprised to see this series go seven games as it appears that the Rangers need to go the distance in each series. My pick is the Rangers will win on visitor ice due to Lundqvist being better than Price by a narrow margin.

Morning games at this point are horrible. Freaking NBC. Watching hockey at 11am completely ruins the vibe, especially when there are no games later in the day.

Hoping the Rangers knock out the Habs, can't stand their fans and the people on their bandwagon.

I haven't seen so much crying about physical playoff hockey since the Bruins bullied the Canucks in the finals.

These two teams wouldn't even beat Calgary in a 7 game series. Worst Eastern Final in history.

I hope Rangers end up being the less bad team, but it's a toss up.

i hope rangers take it, but the habs are really on a roll and look the part of "team of destiny" in the eastern conference.

if you look at the last 9 games between these teams:
- habs are 7-2
- rangers have only scored 7 goals
- rangers have been shutout 5 times

should be interesting.

Both teams are playing for the rights to be spanked by the Hawks as it's debateable either of these teams would have even made the playoffs in the Western Conference. They are kind of mirror images of each other in that they are pretty unremarkable teams propped up by excellent goaltenders. Series should be pretty boring, low scoring stuff and it's probably going to come down to which goaltender has a better series. I'll take Habs in 7 as much like in the first two series they seem go be getting all the breaks which should be enough to beat a ho hum team like the Rangers.
