Yep, Price proved me wrong for sure. I doubted Price before the Olympics too, and look how that turned out.

That being said, the Habs got stronger as the series went on. I didn't think they had much upward movement left after game 4, but they pulled it off.
Habs had two goals leads in 5 of the 7 games. But Yes, they were much better. When it really counted, in elimination games 6 and 7, Habs outscored Boston 7-1

Didn't!

So, I guess it has been established and now it is safe to say that Boston got their ass kicked.

Calling a series that went to 7 games an ass kicking is a bit of a stretch.

Not really. I dont think this one was, but when the Bruins beat the Canucks in 7 games, that was an ass-kicking.

Good job by the Habs. Not a fan of Montreal, but wanted to see someone take the Bruins out. Another satisfying outcome for a lost season.

The Bruins are a better team. That isn’t my bitterness or anger talking. But much like our pal Jesse Marshall explains in his excellent post detailing how teams figured out to beat the Penguins, the Canadiens drew up the blue print for how to beat the Bruins. And their blue print was flawless.

What Montreal just did in this seven game series is force the Bruins to beat themselves. As much as it KILLS me to give the Canadiens credit, I just have to.
Quote:
On the surface you look at all the after whistle stuff and behind the play stuff the Canadiens do and you just want to punch all their throats. But it wasn’t just them being cowardly dicks. It was their strategy. The Bruins may be the toughest team in the NHL, but that “tough guy” mentality was used against them. Against the Canadiens, the Bruins just can’t let even the smallest infraction go. It’s like they buy into their own hype and say “hey, that ‘lil guy pushed me! I can’t let him get away with that!” And then the Bruins commit a stupid penalty.
Quote:
A series loss to Montreal always leaves a disgustingly bitter taste in your mouth, but this time it was so much worse. Montreal mentally and physically broke the Bruins down. Game 7 looked like the Winnipeg Jets threw on Bruins jerseys and went out to play Montreal.

Montreal smelled blood in the water and just kept pushing the Bruins buttons. Don’t poke the bear? Montreal did. And the bear didn’t fight back. It keeled over. Montreal used the Bruins own pride against them. It was sad to witness. The Bruins put on a pathetic performance and rolled over and died for Montreal. Bruins need to pull a Fight Club style ending and just blow Montreal out of their heads and get their #### together.

yeah, ass kicking is definitely overkill.

Soundly beat them, especially in games 6 & 7 but I don't think it was an ass kicking.

Win in 5 and outscoring them by 20 would be an ass kicking.

End result is the same though.

Bring on the Rangers !!!

A pretty good description. The Habs played the game one the ice and between the whistles.

The Bruins are used to intimidating their opponent by being bullish and by using their swagger as an elite team to make their opponent feel unworthy. Montreal wasn't buying it though. They provoked the bully and were about as calm as an underdog could be in the face of a team that outclassed them in pretty much every area in the regular season. I think that drove the Bruins nuts and really threw them off their game.

The strategy was well executed.

No team complains about diving and playing the officials quite like the Bruins.
