I thought the Bruins deferred some of his salary to next year. How in the hell are they going to have cap space to get it done?

I'm going to swing for the fences and go with Colorado.

Boston, LA, Montreal, Chicago, St Louis, San Jose, Rangers
The usual contenders for big names.
He can win his cup when he comes home for his final NHL year, we'll be ready by then.

Iginla couldn't keep pace with that team.

Boston. Chiarelli would've already extended him if the Bruins had any tagging space available.

I'm going to go off the board and suggest that he possibly retires.
37 years old and spent the last two years chasing the Cup around. As much as he wants it, how many times do you move your family around to teams that you are hoping will be Cup winners? I think if you look at Boston, you see they are moving away from being Cup contenders rather then towards it. Not sure if he'd want to stay and try again.
He's accomplished a ton in his career and perhaps this is where he decides that's enough.

CapGeek @capgeek
It is believed Iginla hit $3.7M of his bonuses. Missed on $250K for not winning Stanley Cup and another $250K for not winning three rounds.
CapGeek @capgeek
So it's Iginla's bonuses, plus any earned by Krug, Hamilton and others, that should come directly off the #Bruins 2014-15 cap.
Bruins going into next season with ~$4 million less cap space than other teams because of performance bonuses pushed them over this year's salary cap

Hawks or kings. Montreal won't need him, he's too slow for them

Only thing he could do to tarnish his amazing legacy is sign with the oilers imo. Not that it will happen anyway.

Scrub ass he was.
That's actually the perfect way to describe hit play this playoffs.

Good bye Jarome, don't let the door hit your scrub ass on the way out.

Iginla should offer to pay us to come back after the contract we gave him last year.
Not that I'd take him back. We need playoff performers. Not career losers.

Iginla is the classic case of stats being deceiving. He has been AWFUL all playoffs long. His goal totals are decent, but tip in goals are 90% luck. Not luck as in getting your stick on it, but luck as in what the puck does on the deflection. Good for him for having the net front presence, but his overall play in this series is part of the reason we are in this predicament right now in the first place. Win or lose, get the **** off my team, Jarome.

Just terrible fans. Iggy taking the blame, yet Lucic, Marchand, and Thornton's antics are ignored. Not to mention Chara was awful.
I hope he isn't back in Boston.

That's why I don't think he ends up with Chicago or Philly either.

Who was the guy who basically wrote that Iginla was too old and slow to play with the Pens in about 40 different posts last year?
I feel like we need him back.

That would be a good fit actually. Especially if the Ducks trade for Spezza. That would be a nice 1-2 punch eh? Getzlaf and Perry on one line with Spezza and Iggy on another.

Boston. They will make it work. Who knows maybe the flames can help them out. Season and a half later and the flames might finally get something for Iggy to Boston. Lol

That's my choice - a relatively young team with an established hard nosed leader, and up and coming youngsters. He wouldn't have to be the star, but could pull off the occasional needed goal like Selanne does, and provide some extra leadership

Unless something drastic has changed since before the playoffs, both he and Chiarella made it sound like the deal was already done, and they were just waiting until July 1 when the cap space is freed up.
