I might be in the minority, but I am okay with a jersey of a team not playing so long as it's of a player on one of the teams, eg) a Winnipeg Selanne Jersey to a Duck's game.

I hate the look of the pink & white jerseys though. They just look so dull.

I think it's pretty dorky, but hey, do you.

I just got my old man a Seahawks jersey with "14" and "Superbowl" on it because he loves that sort of thing.

I think a bigger faux paux is wearing jerseys in a non jersey situation (Ie. any other setting than watching a game).

YES! I've totally seen those! Great responses. I laughed pretty hard at the scenarios I missed.

I generally agree, I'll make an amendment if is game day, and your not going home before the game.

ie pints before the dome sorta thing.

I got McLovin put on the back of my jersey when that movie came out.

Deal with it.

Anyone considered putting Velcro on a Jersey so you can change the sign/name anytime you feel like it?

Still not good enough,

I usually pack my jersey/jeans (redpants)/cowbell in my napsack before games.

Exactly,

It's not being disrespectful against the club, im sure the owners won't be crying at night knowing a fan has a custom nambar. I dont really see how it could define the person who wear's one as childish or lame, trust me its not fun buying jerseys only to have a player traded / leave town via UFA.

In the end though - Will it really effect your evening at the dome and does it bother you so much that you'll not pay attention to the game?

Fuzzy or hook side on the jersey? Being fuzzy or a hooker in between players makes a little bit of a difference.

As someone who owns several jerseys with player names on them that no longer play for the team my answer is yes, perfectly acceptable.

Over the last couple years my buddy has gone through about 6 New York Jets jerseys because everybody keeps leaving. He has this gross closet of old weird Jets jerseys that he never wears.

He finally just went and got a Namath.

So if you are worried about getting the name of someone who might leave, just go with a classic jersey.

I was thinking of getting a 'Callonme' 26 jersey.

Love the 'Tier' 2 ones coming out of Edmonton
