I would think that the larger ice surface would eliminate them.
It seems that it would be a lot tougher to be a physical player in Europe as there is so much more room and the players you are trying to hit will be accomplished skaters.
But by the same token it would be a lot easier going to the net as there would not be the Regehrs and Orpiks ready to break their sticks on your back.

One last note (for now) on Wolf. Burke has trumpeted members of the #Flames and their role in giving back to the community. (1/2)

Wolf is selling off his furniture in Hamburg and is planning on donating the proceeds to a local kids charity. A very nice touch (2/2).

I hope 1st game of the season he runs Burrows headfirst into the boards and then punches Bieksa without warning after being confronted. Instant fan favorite!

Nice to read he has some offensive touch and seems to be a student of the game. With Hartley as his teacher I think he can reach some untapped potential. Very excited to see him next season!

I think the canucks should be signing #38 very soon his diving is already canuck level good
Between this and the Horak news, its a good day for Flames fans.
This Wolf will learn the zen arts from big ern and learn to channel his hulk rage into fights. Good signing.
I've only ever seen his highlight reels, but his highlight reels make him look like a giant reeking Dbag.
Reminds me of Kassian.
Maybe a worthwhile gamble, but I hope to god we don't see this kind of scumbag antics on the Flames.
First and foremost i want him to be a great teammate but I wouldn't mind if he had a little attitude to his game and makes the opposition keep their collective head up. Having a player that fans of the other 29 teams hate i honestly don't believe would be a bad thing for our Flames team.

#Flames Burke asked David Wolf if he was coming to summer camp. "Yes, of course. I want to see the city. And I want to meet everybody."
