Gaudreau with a crazy spinning backhand no-look pass out of the corner into the slot.

He's making it damn hard to temper my expectations...

Just let it happen AC, don't resist. He's gonna be the next Gretzky

Great work down low by Huberdeau and Monahan leading to that goal. Great shift by all three forwards. Hopefully that cements Monahan as the 4th centre

Gaudreau's line is getting offensive zone time every shift. I've been pretty impressed with Kevin Hayes so far. Gaudreau is just a good player. I am no longer sitting and hoping that he will look good, rather I am enjoying his creativity and expecting more.

Flipping back to the Canada game during commercials, I am happy to see Monahan getting a regular shift this game. He's a better player than a bunch of the guys on Team Canada and hopefully by the medal round he will be a top 9 guy on the team.

Some other observations:
-Jacob Trouba is one of my favorite defensemen now. Big, physical D who passes and shoots very well. He's a great player and the Jets made a great pick.
-Gardiner looks good so far today
-Tyler Johnson has been less effective than I am used to
-Ovechkin is exciting
-Kadri seems a little better to me than his reputation suggests
-Literally haven't noticed any Canucks (though I am focused on the USA-RUS game)

I have to wait several days to get actual game footage from this tournament, but I'll make a few of his first 2 games.

Czech/Canada 1-1 tie after 1. Monahan with primary assist on Ward's goal.
Russia 2-0 over USA after 1. Kulemin and Ovechkin with Russia's goals

So Gaudreau's line is going head to head against Ovechkin's? Great test for him.

Monahan receiving some positive comments nearly every shift. Just sent a clever saucer pass in front that Huberdeau barely missed. Made a nice breakup play on the backcheck too.
